Expectations...29 Jan 2018 21:47
While I very much hope for imminent great news I am nevertheless trying to keep my feet firmly on the ground and, AIM being AIM, take nothing for granted. As w1%ard gleefully and repeatedly pointed out, the commercial viability is as yet unproven and while I see the disclaimer to that effect as hopefully nothing more than standard practice, that 'standard practice' is there for a reason and I am only to well aware that I for one lack the expertise to assess the data provided accordingly.
I suspect that the delay is more likely down to 'getting it right' than Wentsland's assumption that they are withholding bad news, yet I am genuinely concerned by Alistair Ford's departure. He has been a key figure in MAFL to date and, like the others, has worked for little reward along the way. It makes no sense to me that he would leave with the end in sight, particularly with the anticipated results. Something just doesn't add up imho which makes me a little wary of what's to come.
The other concern I have is obviously the overall SP performance. On a Technical analysis basis, regardless of superficial volatility, the SP recently broke a well established growth channel and, since last week, can only be viewed as in decline. This would suggest that even an exceptional RNS at this stage will likely result in only a brief and very modest spike before descending further, while a negative RNS would presumably be nothing short of catastrophic.
Obviously we all want for this to be a resounding success but the outcome is perhaps not as absolutely certain as is sometimes portrayed and I for one will continue to reign in my expectations in the hope that I will be pleasantly surprised rather than bitterly disappointed.
Very best of luck to all.
