I think the reason it is disliked so much, is because the returns for Shareholders and Investors are so poor.
The Directors have always been about rewarding themselves and not the shareholders, rarely paying a divi above 3% and as a result, the SP really doesn't ever result in substantial increases.
It needs a cultural change, which isn't going to happen, as long as they have their snouts in the money trough.

It's ridiculous. They are just delaying the inevitable rate rise.
The longer they leave it, the larger it will have to be.

Or they can't issue new shares , whilst at the same time they are buying back others.

What point is there in implementing a buyback program, when at the same time, you are also issuing new shares !!!

They have announced though that "Barclays will be offering a share alternative in the form of a dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP) for those shareholders who wish to elect to use their dividend payments to purchase additional ordinary shares, rather than receive a cash payment"

I hope that this does not mean 'new shares'.

The problem with the buybacks, is that BARC are issuing scrip dividends at the same time !!!
It's about time this scrip dividend farce was stopped.

I am also in contact with people in the industry and EZJ is very attractive , I am told.

I doubt they will get to 5.00 without further bids emerging.

So if there was a 93% take up of the RI, it seems to indicate that Stelios didn't sell all of his rights !

So, we haven't had any shortage of drivers for the last 2 years during covid......why all of a sudden are they saying there is a shortage now .
Is it profiteering by the fuel companies who are saying they are prioritising motorway stations over others ?
Nothing to do then, with the fact that the motorway services charge substantially more for fuel than city centres .
I suspect there is more going on here than driver shortages...........
