Should be some support at the 200d ma or 25p. If so, then off 4p from the highs. I think in a year or so once the divis are rolling in, the long term investors will see this pullback for the mere bagatelle it is.

Agree. Great news all round. Smashing away at that debt, surely in anticipation of the first divi payment. Looks to me like a co that is committed to creating shareholder value. This has cheered me right up before going back in to work after 10 days holiday.

Romaron - yes it is a controversial view at present but I see an awful lot of PMs stepping down of late and suspect that into any void we will see the rise of populism in Western politics. If O&G becomes prohibitively expensive because of previous underinvestment and yet is available locally in abundance then only natural that electorates will demand it.

I also think that to some extent ESG has had an easy ride in the recent low interest rate environment and in the absence of inflation. Yet still the returns remain elusive.

My view: when the real energy crisis hits - oil will be subsidised by the G7 lol.!

Yes we can all aim to do our bit but the Sun has other ideas.

ESG is facing many headwinds and may even be dead in the water for the next few years - investors making the pledges have lost a packet.

The energy realists are set to clean up going forward.
