I had a little trade in this name a while ago and have kept an eye on it since, without pulling the trigger again.

I was very surprised at the hint of raising funds without giving more detail on this.

I mean, how else would the market react to such a potential unknown like that?! How do you go about pricing that in, with basically very little to go on?

Nope. The jury is still out on the CEO. Am I open to changing my mind? Absolutely. When he delivers a strong sale upon completion of the formal process, and sorts out the mess that is most/all of the UK operations.

With that, we should see debt back to very low levels and profits that mean a dividend can be reinstated. Although no rush on that for me. Make sure the balance sheet is rock solid, rather than risk the mess of what happened last time they brought it back.

Some significant inside buying would not go amiss either. Not sure whether the aforementioned US sale process prevents them doing so right now, but I am pretty sure they have had opportunities before now. Not trifling ones either.

Anyway, while I agree with you that these chat boards can veer to extremes of misery or euphoria, often simply predicated on SP action, equally, I do not think previous management mistakes should be forgiven or forgotten until/unless there is sustained evidence that the ship has not only been steadied, but is back to peak performance. AIMO. GLA.

Hopefully. In the meantime, I am puzzled by the rise in the indices at the same time as the VIX. Usually operate inversely.

I set a small buy order for 121.50p-ish, but looks like I am not going to get it.

Hopefully we get the kind of results that will make for lively trading. GLA.

Probably no longer accurate, but disclosed shorts were last listed as 1.79%.

It will be interesting to see if some of them double down, or decide to clear out after this latest, material, inside buy.

If it was only eg 20K or so, I could understand the luke warm response...but these are indeed money where mouth is actions. That, like your comment, cannot reasonably be called a ramp :)

Hopefully it starts to get some media attention soon, then it could become even more fun.

FWIW, I still plan to slice a few, but am likely now going to wait for a higher first target price than I planned only the other day. Could be right. Could be wrong.

But I feel genuinely like the BOD here are aligned with us smaller holders.

And that inclines me to give them greater levels of support and offer more patience in their efforts here, and the journey with a destination that all us longs hope to reach.

I cannot remember seeing such significant inside buying from several insiders in such a short space of time in a stock.

No guarantees of course, but if this does not act as a buy signal, not much else will IMO. GLA.

Pleasantly surprised to be entirely wrong about the market reaction here, but really cannot see how it is currently up 12% or so on that update. Perhaps it is shorts exiting, or relief buyers who thought a placing was indeed nailed on?

Anyway, I clearly have no steer on this one at the moment, so will let it do as it will.

If it closes above 66.12p (and preferably the same tomorrow) that will be IMO extremely bullish.

And yeah, I agree with that poster who said dump the UK operations. Let the nanny state pick up the tab for the loss making rubbish. Or do whatever it takes to make it profitable, which would be my ideological preference. GLA.

The mistake was returning the dividend, only to cancel it again in short order. A terrible commercial decision that the market will rightly not forget in a hurry.

They should only reinstate the dividend when (hopefully) debt is much, much lower and profits are further enhanced, IMO.

I was not expecting a raise, but nothing brattish about pointing out the negatives here :)

Yeah, it was making for fairly pleasant reading until I got to the net debt and gearing element.

If I was the market, I would sell this down, at least to the 50 DMA range.

But I am not, so it probably will do the opposite :)

Talk of the US bus sale is all well and good, but the market is probably now only interested in the black and white details when they come, rather than the initial euphoria when it was first announced as a plan of action. Seems like a while ago now.

Anyway, will add a few more if we get a proper flush, but holding, not selling, the small long term allocation. GLA.

At least it was not done at a heavy discount to the closing price I guess, but it might explain the price action here for a while. Not done at a premium either, which in this credit environment is no surprise.

It's not a sudden 20% drop near the close! Only a little over 4% over the day. Low volume too.

However, IMO, it is not that some are fearful of a GFC-type event.

It is simply the risk (however small perhaps) that they will come in at the bottom end of guidance, with a gloomy forward-looking statement. If they were below guidance, I would have expected a notification before now, so am dismissing that as a realistic scenario.

FWIW, I am not expecting the former; I have no opinion on what forward guidance might be. Not a clue.

But experience suggests that exiting before earnings is usually a wise move. Especially for traders.

This one does move fast though, so those remaining with a large position could be well rewarded in a couple of days.

Short of a terrible (or outstanding) update, I think there is a fair chance we might be able to buy some back cheaper than the 130p-ish region at some point in the weeks ahead.

But time will tell and for me, having a few left in the tank here is preferable to being all in or all out. GLA.

The buy back element was also a feature in my decision to join you in this one, Mary.

If we have one or more II's reducing here, the BB programme should help to clear them more quickly and reduce the drag effect on the SP.

If we see a drop below the div cost price on the 22nd, I may well add a few more. Or a sub 380p price prior to then.

Just a healthy pull back IMO. Likely just traders booking profits. NT hit (and passed) his target price recently, so perhaps he and his followers are the reason for this movement? Not sure, just speculation.

My own plans with my remaining allocation remain unchanged, although if I get my target price before earnings, in truth, I would probably take it and take a fresh view after the update.

Still far enough away for it to be of no consequence and I am fairly relaxed about simply staying put for the update regardless. GLA.

That is literally the only reason I have retained a position here. Materially reduced position though, because this one feels very much like a fool me once play. And let's be honest: what has Stephen done in the past few years to justify strong faith in his words?

We have all been there mate. And other times, sold stuff for a profit, only to see said stock continue higher and higher, lol.

As I have commented here before, this company has been around long enough now to be at least washing its own face, rather than still needing raises or de facto raises via selling SBTX stock.

The growth rate here is light years away from being a high enough level to justify anything like that kind of growth stock exceptionalism, where you can essentially apply different rules to the metrics.

IMO, this remains one to trade (perhaps) but is not a serious business and thus not a credible investment option. But to each their own. GLA.
