I guess had that post been made/shared on this chat board a month or so ago, when it was around 30p, rather than now, where sure, the SP could retest and break through the six month high - but could just as easily retrace quite materially - it would have looked less like a PI looking for buyers to offload their shares onto.

Apologies in advance if I am being cynical with this interpretation. As I said, it could fly and this one could stumble.

But this one has buy backs in play (with a new round to start shortly) and a chunky dividend, which I think I am right in suggesting MTRO has neither of. The chart does look interesting though.

Hmmm. IMO the metrics are far better here; the time to buy that name was around the 30p equity raise for a trade, IMO.

I have not seen any decent inside buying since then and Chatbot2 makes some very interesting and detailed comments over on that chat board (yes, I know he is an ex-holder by his own admission, but nevertheless).

The last company update in that one does not encourage me either.

By no means am I suggesting that OSB is a dead cert and Metro the opposite though.

But I do think your ramp of that name here is unjustified. All that said, I am sure others will do their own dd and form their own conclusions.

I wonder if that relates to what the poster Definitely Yes (I think that was the username) suggested quite a while ago, or something different?

I do not follow TW, so do not know what he has said. I cannot remember when those posts were either, but I presume those on here for a year or more might remember the posts in question. I think it was only a couple or so, but that is as far as I can recall.

I understand that a listed company has to notify the market in matters of any dispute with HMRC, but not sure what the protocol is for a private/shareholder disputes.

Not that it matters, but to be clear, I have no idea on whether such a dispute is in motion or not.

If TW and/or others are alleging such things, then hopefully the company will issue an RNS on Tuesday to either confirm or deny them.

Anyway, wishing bulls and bears a nice bank holiday weekend.

And yet the disclosed short interest still only stands at 0.54%. Which surprises me. I expected to see quite an increase in the updated listed this afternoon.

The sooner the BOD clarify the funding/finance matters that they alluded to, the better.

IMO, with that uncertainty hanging over the business, it is virtually impossible to price this company. Perhaps the shorts fear a positive RNS and do not want to get trapped?

Increasingly interesting though and very much on my radar for a potential trade. GLA.

Only those I bought at a live price a few days ago. And a few more earlier this morning.

While I think the 380's are the 'buy' zone (and so IMO I overpaid earlier), I also want to build a slightly bigger position here to make the prospect of slicing etc, viable.

Still underweight here, so unless we see eg 440's on thin air, I am only adding at this stage personally. Otherwise, 415p-ish would look an attractive possible sell/trim zone IMO.

For clarity, I am referring to a possible trading range, not from a LTH point of view. In case other posters here take offence :)

I guess if you have loads in the 380's, then 10p-15p sells might be worth it.

As am I. A few pence ahead of my target price (which no doubt will now be reached later today, lol).

If we get a pull back on nothing company-specific, then I will be back in.

I have not looked yet at their remuneration packages, but presume they are not on just about managing wages :)

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if the SP gets at least a small bounce tomorrow. Usually they do on day three after a couple of major down days.

Perhaps because it was a pretty small purchase. IMO, you want to see at least two or three more insiders buying (and £100K type buys, rather than the medium-sized solitary one we have seen so far).

Then you will get some fresh investor interest I think.

Be interesting to see what, if any, holdings announcements we see in the next few days. I would imagine one or more are reducing, or even bailing fully, but maybe not. Huge volume the past couple of days does not appear to be PI activity, but we shall see. GLA.

I think a few people (who have not already left) are considering similar plans.

The channel islands appear to be quite attractive to this end, IMO, although there are plenty of other sensible tax jurisdictions for HNWI's as well.

A few others only make sense if you are an UHNWI. But discuss with your tax adviser before making any decisions of course.

Not sure if such comments might soon fall foul of whatever new fascist censorship laws they bring in, so will leave it at that.

I do like an inside buy. After an update like that one, you cannot help but think 'why should I buy if the insiders are not'?

That said, it is not a large purchase. Perhaps the other senior management team are going to follow suit shortly and with more significant purchases?

I think that is a wise move, Mary. I think Tom was a bit over-optimistic in anticipating the SP rocketing on that update.

IMO it was solid, but I am not convinced it was enough to break out of the current trading range.

I thought it was a good update. Nice, sensible tone, noting the macro environment difficulties; currency headwinds not ideal, but not particularly unusual - and entirely manageable in that range.

Looks to me like they have learnt their lesson from the past.

Not sure it will be enough for me to get my target exit price, but I am comfortable sitting on what I have for now.

Well, I do not see a stable macro environment happening again for a long time, hence my comment about not seeing it return to historic highs.

But, even allowing for this, subject to enough going right, I can see a bag or two from this level.

No idea when. 12-18 months perhaps?

Naturally, if we do indeed get a billion GBP, as someone else suggested had been touted for the US sale, and they remedy the UK operations, then that might prove somewhat conservative. Hope so of course, but we need the proof of the pudding analogy to come good. Not put the horse ahead of the cart etc.

Fair enough. And I have kept a small position here myself, with a few trades along the way, because I do think that ultimately it will get back to being the type of reliable cash machine that it once was.

Maybe not surpassing, or even revisiting, the historic highs again, but well enough to be a good long term hold investment.

Like I said, I am open to changing my mind on the CEO, and I appreciate the tough trading conditions for most operations since 2020.

Anyway, good to see the market reacting positively today. Market trust in the direction of travel intact at the time of print.
