Try a little bit of quantitative analyses baserite. Start with your estimated value of the worth to SAR from the published results of the SRA737 combo trials for example then add on your estimates for all the other bits , TYK2 and Aurora etc. Then provide us with what you consider what a current fair MCap of SAR should be. On the worst possible side , bet the figures hat you come up with will be many times the actual.
Its always hard to correctly guess an exit strategy . Biggest mistake I made many years ago was getting out of Atlantic Telecom after doubling my money , they went up and up more than another ten fold , after that and I was pig sick. They ended up like a lot of my other rainbow chasers going bust so on reflection I was a happy bunny in the end. Best thing for us imo would be an agreed takeover in which case the shares would be suspended and we would get our % of the companies worth at so much per share held. If the rise continues on speculation without any deal then I have 3 exit points ( heavily back loaded ) and should each be reached then I will sell my holding in proportion. If the SP continues on the same upward curve next week and we don't get a speeding ticket RNS then I believe we could be soon in the money. Not just a one trick pony , SAR are in the unique position of being able to deliver for us on a multitude of fronts . How next week pans out could be a key indicator. I am fully loaded , but what a great entry point at the current SP. ATB guys.
Hi Malbrun This is the first time that I haven't brought in on a dip and sold a few on a spike in a few years. Over the past year or so I have sold the remains of my desperate AIM Portfolio and added the shrapnel to my holding which is all in an ISA here. SAR is the only share I hold now and I have built up a very decent holding here over a number of years. Have an exit strategy and hoping the SP will hit the right spots so I can cash a few in at various points on the way up. There are so many possibilities here imo with our compounds that I believe that we are in a position where balance of probability for a big pay day is at last on our side. Heres hoping . Good luck mate.
I would not rule a placing out . There is always a possibility that SAR will seek to raise some dosh by taking the opportunity that has evolved due to the recent spike in the SP. History tells us that they have adopted that stance in the past. The key to the answer will be if they consider whether or not that they have adequate funds to keep ticking over before a deal is struck. We will know the answer to this conundrum within the next few weeks imo.
Good to see some of the informed golden oldies posting again stevej , hopkirk , andy mk , zylo .etc, etc, Nearly time for all us rainbow chasers to cash in. Not long now. Fingers X
Waiting for the right red dot. So much potential here on many fronts. The right sort of news will see the SP fly towards Thoths 28p . Good luck fellow long term holders. The odds at last seem to be tipping in our favour. just requires one of them ducks that are lining up to fall on to the kitchen table and Mr Spoons Rocket that is currently parked in a side turning not far from the Portobello Road will be in lift off.
Lets not forget that during quiet periods between news the MMs try to manipulate the SP to encourage trades either buys or sells to make their money while at the same time trying to maintain a balanced book. By dropping the SP here at a time when sentiment is high as they have this morning has had the required affect and encouraged a few buys. The problem shareholders of AIM stocks similar to non profit making companies like SAR is that irrespective of potential the MMs continue to take liberties and drop the SP until the company is at bargain basement levels . Hence when good news does come there is a very substantial rerate. Best to trade a few when an opportunity occurs but keep the majority for the eventual rise . As many have stated here imo stay in while the science is good . AND IT IS.
At the current rate of SP increase they will all be back, Mr O , Lottie and Roger , Doc Holiday and even the dreaded Higgs. You have to be a real long term holder here to remember all of those Herberts. Although the Doc was a very clever and well informed cookie. Could do with the mega news we have all been waiting for to break while the momentum is still with us.
Lets be completely honest , anyone who invests in a potential blockbuster non profit making pharma share is gambling big time , not because there is anything wrong with the science ( which keeps us invested ) but quite simply as history has correctly informed us that the chances of getting through the rigorous clinical trials to being in a position to close a multi million dollar deal is so low that it almost an impossibility . It costs millions to develop a compound to a position of certainty where a potential suitor will feel encouraged to spend a huge amount that will guarantee a suitable return on their investment. The only way that SAR and similar companies can finance the advancement of their compounds through to a stage where they can realise the value of its assets is by achieving appropriate funding. Not helped at all by Sierra doing everything they can to defer milestone payments on CHK1. Of course the uncertainty over possible fund raising is affecting the SP here . I believe that we are fortunate enough to be in a position where we have every chance to get over the line before any future funding constraints kick in and make our chances of making a decent return on our investment an impossibility. The data from the trials that prove how effective CHK1 is when used in a combo give us all the credibility we need without even considering the credentials of TYK2 an even bigger potential blockbuster. Will continue to hold here until the fat lady sings one way or another . What will be will be , but for certain the the answer is in the tea leaves within the cup of fortune that will be turned imo for the final time within the next few months. Time us LTHs got put out of our misery one way or another.
A very happy xmas to all from me at present 1.25pm xmas day in Mordialoc Melbourne 26 degrees. Lets hope that 2020 will be the year when we can cash all our chips in here and show a healthy profit. ATB guys.
Yep predictable Aber . Especially as yesterdays rise took place on little trading volume. Still a chance that SAR will issue some sort of sweetener RNS before the AGM to try and derail the discontent and scorn that they will have to deal with from some of the quite rightly imo disgruntled shareholders that will be attending. I would have definitely attended myself for the first rime this year but sods law I booked flights to Melbourne ages ago and we fly from Heathrow next Tuesday evening . It would have been great to put some faces to some of the forum members whose posts I have read over the past number of years and also to have a craic and a few bevies after. Will take a look at the forum while away and many thanks to those attending . I am sure the feedback on here will be well worth logging in for. ATB Guys.
RE: SIERRA Institutional Investors26 Nov 2019 09:37
So the 11s have bought heavily into SRRA at bargain basement prices and collectively hold a majority share in the company . somethings definitely afoot. Lets hope that there is a positive outcome in there for SAR somewhere. Us lths deserve a bit of good fortune that would start if we received a milestone payment fairly pronto.
Sierra only want to sell it on because they dont wish to cough up the milestone payments . As Fadec states Chk1 is an inhibitor which is effective when used in combination with Gentitabine . The effectiveness of the combo in trials to date have been well documented. No wonder there are a number of interested parties . I am sure a deal will be done 737 is worth its weight in gold.
Blimey bp 2 nickerooskys. A lot of us would make well over 20 million smackers profit if that was the case. 5p would do me , although thoths 28p makes sense if you consider the past deals that have transpired .
Yep History has told us that the only way to make a small fortune out of investing in AIM is to start with a large one and work down. Been invested here longer than most and have built up a decent holding . Lucky to have traded a few at the right time over the years to leave me with a very decent average . As long as the science remains top notch I will stay in and take my chance. An SP here of a measly 3p would not only wipe out all the losses I have had with a very long list of AIM disasters but would also leave me with a decent few quid over the top. Like a lot of others I think I will stick with my holding here and see how things pan out . About time one share on AIM bucked the normal downward trend . With cautious optimism , I believe that SAR has as good a chance as any of being the one.
Hj Krone I would think not . As it is , I would have thought that there is a strong possibility that Tim and John would have been far from happy with the terms CRT and SRRA agreed for the original deal as it stands. No doubt they will be kept in the loop and on any negotiations that may take place but CRT will imo take what action they feel fit at the appropriate time. Just my opinion but I believe that the clock is ticking for SRRA on a number of fronts and that if nothing positive materialises that will benefit us very soon then CRT will turn the screw. ATB
CRT are a very astute organisation with considerable financial acumen , they wont allow Sierra to profit from any old sob story that will result in changing the state of play with regards to obligations regarding contractual milestone payments. Only 2 possible outcomes imo Sierra conclude a deal with an interested party or the rights go back to SAR. Either or in the near term please.
