Hydrogen Refuelling Stations are being planned and being developed across the UK, with the goal of a nationwide network by 2027. While there are currently a limited number of stations, particularly for public use, infrastructure is expanding. The government and private companies are investing in building these stations, aiming to support the growth of hydrogen-powered vehicles and heavy transport.

* Element 2 plans to build a UK-wide network of hydrogen refuelling stations, aiming to have them across the country by 2027. 


* Aegis Energy is planning to build 30 new hydrogen refuelling stations, with the first opening in early 2026.

08.05.2025 - 120MW - ITM Power is pleased to announce that we have been selected by Uniper for their 120MW Humber H2ub® (Green) project. The project was recently shortlisted as part of the UK's Hydrogen Allocation Round 2 (HAR2). ITM will deploy six 20MW POSEIDON core electrolysis process modules into the project.

06.05.2025 - ITM Power is pleased to announce that we have signed a contract to supply a NEPTUNE V unit to Westnetz GmbH, a Dortmund-based German distribution system operator for electricity and gas.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has unveiled the specifications of its next-generation fuel cell module and fuel cell power generator at the H2 & FC EXPO in Tokyo, Japan. The company aims to enhance hydrogen adoption and expand the application of its fuel cell technology across various sectors.

Key Advancements in Honda's Fuel Cell Module

The Honda Next Generation Fuel Cell Module would be an independently developed successor to the current model. The new module would offer significant improvements:

Cost Reduction: Production costs would have been reduced by half compared to the previous model.

• Enhanced Durability: Durability would have more than doubled, making the system more reliable.

• Increased Volumetric Power Density: The module’s power density would be three times higher, allowing for greater flexibility in installation.

• High Output: The module has a rated output of 150 kW, with a voltage range of 450-850 V.

• Compact Design: The system would have been downsized to enable better integration into various applications.

Mass production of the Honda Next Generation Fuel Cell Module is set to begin in 2027.

Our Eternal Power GmbH team was able to test drive a BMW iX5 Hydrogen powered prototype for two full weeks: BMW Group plans to introduce its first-ever series production fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) in 2028.

The BMW iX5 Hydrogen is a great car that left us fully convinced and enthusiastic: no emissions while powered with green hydrogen, great fun to drive, very dynamic, fast refuelling, very good range … in short: a great piece of engineering craftsmanship and technical excellence!

Many thanks and congratulations to the entire #BMW team for developing such a great car and handing it over to Eternal Power to test-drive it, Dr. Michael Rath, Michael Hofmann and Glenn Bockelmann.
