Shall we stop people investing their own money because other people cant afford to invest?

Blind - So people have their feewings hurt because the world isnt 100% fair and that hurts their feewings? what do they want us to do? spread out all wealth equally?

What does it matter what shareholders would spend their money on? How does shareholders making money have anything to do with fairness of the scheme?

Stevielad - But why? What difference does that talk make? Of course people are going to want nice things for investing in companies? Its a free market. Without shareholders the whole economy would collapse... maybe the FCA should know a thing or two about this as they are supposedly the regulator of said markets? Seems like they are playing a dangerous game.

Mouse yes some of us didnt expect dividends.. but we cant forget that there are still some holders from IPO who very much expected dividends.. should count for something and offering any extra to the pot can only be a good thing in my eyes.

Mouse im just trying to think of ways that we can help by offering something up apart from total shareholder wipeout as QC Tom Smith for the FCA would like to see.. Just because dividends are not in play right now, doesnt mean that offering up our 4 years future dividends wont be helpful?

One thing i think we could do is as shareholders, offer up our Dividends we would usually get as a sweetener to the deal, anyone with any thoughts on this? Seems FCA got a real hard-on against shareholders profiting from a good outcome for all? Not sure exactly why they would attack shareholders as they regulate the markets and know how important shareholders are to the whole market. Absolute madness.

Not quite sure why you are here, last thing i checked the shares were suspended so what impact are you trying to have?

LondonInvestor - The point is that £180m doesnt belong to Amigo, that is secured bondholder cash. They rank higher in insolvency, and if they decide to pull the plug and not let their money go to waste on another vote and 6 more months, then i wouldnt be surprised seeing as the FCA still havent said what they would deem as fair.. it could go on forever.

Little less involvement from FCA wouldnt hurt :P Look at where the SP was when they said they wouldnt oppose the scheme until they said they would. They caused the rising optimism and wanted to use the mCap as a weapon in court to prove there was shareholder value. Very disgusting practice from a regulator to have planned to harm unsuspecting shareholders to appease previously harmed customers. Who in turn then became shareholders in many cases and would now lose their redress and their share value.

The thing all the passed SoAs had in common, was Alastair Norris sanctioned them :( why couldnt we just have him as the judge.. doesnt make sense

They will have to show their hand eventually, I think personally Studios wouldnt have gone through all the trouble of passing a law to make it possible for them to own cinema chains without big plans.

Thanks everyone, i was thinking we may not have been seeing positive SP movement because "commercial reasons" means some sort of takeover and shorters are about to be burned bad, but the MMs are trying to let them out with minimal damage. No way is Cine in the 80s right now without a little MM meddling :) We know Gary hates shorters as much as the rest of us, maybe he will spring takeover news, or something of that magnitude right when the most shorters are trapped in their positions trying to force price down.. Lets hope!!!!
