1. Gyro metrics is running a 6 month trial, with its gyromon, consisting of generic hardware and proprietary software, on a 7MW wind turbine, at the UK centre for excellence in renewable energy. To give one an idea of scale: An average offshore wind turbine of 3.6 MW can power more than 3,312 average EU households. (www.ewea.org)
The trial commenced in Nov 2017, so results in April/May imho. Essentially these devices are best fitted during factory manufacture of wind turbines. The prospect is of this device proving successful in the trial, leading to contract/s for fitting on new turbines. I can see some competition ref similar electronic monitoring systems, and my lack of tech knowledge doesnt allow me to compare the tech or the patents. Anyone with a tech background, feel free to find the patents, research them.
UK leads Europe in wind turbine energy production, and our aims are ambitious. We crossed circa 15% of total energy needs by wind energy, in 2017, a new record for us. Many commentators think wind is going to end up cheaper than gas and nuclear (not to mention cleaner). Cost of wind energy (forward contracts) has dropped significantly: 50% DROP in just 30 months, including transmission costs, so economies of scale are being realised.
Gyrometrics is already working with distributor Vulkan, for its marine tech, and known to have customers in Asia already, and described as having a good order book. Of course we need sight of the numbers. Gyro accounts has merged with BHI given it owns 50%, year end results upto March 2018, expected in June. The intention is to roll out into Wind turbines, and lastly into Nuclear installations. Areas targeted initially are UK plus Europe.
2. Second area of growth would be Geocurve winning new contracts: ? from EA, jointly ? with Jacobs (who took over CH2M in December 2017) etc. Contract with Aviva is as partner for aerial surveying and aerial inspection. Big growth areas: Aviva is a top 30 financial service provider in the world, $69B turn over, multiple markets/regions. Revenue is less relevant than the doors it will open and the endorsement by a brand. Tech is not as relevant as the people: Geocurve team has always been innovative. Everyone knows about the recent Leica kits: Pegasus backpack, and Pegasus two Ultimate (P2U). Older ex:

Lastly, I ve puzzled over the link or compliment between Aero and gyrometrics. Drones and non drone surveying could compliment monitoring of wind turbines, nuclear installations possibly. There may be a joined up software platform in the cloud, which reports in real time, merging data from the gyrometric system and drones? Note mention of a remote monitoring service in RNS. Just guessing here.
I found the use of wording interesting in recent RNS. NB states this marks the COMM
