Not really. The capital invested by you and I is insignificant(I presume! :)) in terms of capital they need to develop new products and get them to market. The theory of the buyback is that by reducing the number of shares it raises the value of remaining shares, which makes the company a more attractive investment for new large investors and keeps existing IIs happy, too.

Hi Ivy I see your point. Presumably RNSs are released under TYR for the benefit of the IIs. So it gives us an advantage, added to which there seem to be around 60% fewer shares issued in TYRU? Are we right in assuming a big rise in TYR would result in a correspondingly bigger rise in TYRU? I remember a discussion a while back with Luke about relative benefits of each.

I subscribe to the Investor Alert service on tyratech.com. That way you get the news in your mailbox as soon as released. With only just over 40% of shares in free flotation, they could dry up quite quickly with good news.

That was exactly my point. Those IIs are going to want to take profit before the price rise reverses, which it has to. Not necessarily bad news, though. Will give people a chance to get in here in the mid-20s or average down.

I can't think that these sells are anybody in the know about anything. They're for such small amounts, in the general scheme of things. But odd, yes, with the Strategic Review just around the corner.

Why do you say that? SDIC is the Chinese equivalent of the Ministry of Agriculture. This project is in it's first stages, so 3 weeks a bit early to know who they will be allocating construction contracts to. But remember, ZKTY(CNEL) are second biggest producers of bioethanol for food industry in China, so must be in with quite a good shout. Also, in a communist republic, US and European constructors won't get a look in. I would say it's more good news and shows how China are ramping up the scale of bioethanol production. Sorry for delayed response. I'm flattered, but I don't know any more about the actual science than you or rest of board members. What I do know is that $billions are being pumped into biofuels research around the globe and somebody is going to make a lot of money out of it. Regarding ZKTY, my understanding is they are a wholly owned subsidiary of CNEL. A lot of posters on here find the lack of updates from the board frustrating, but it's always been their way. No news, unless it's actual signed contracts. Personally, I like that. So many directors of AIM companies misleading potential investors with sudden RNS " possibly massive diamond reserve found 5 miles under floor of Atlantic Ocean" kind of stuff. Great for day traders, but we're investors, aren't we.

I think Zambia is a pipe dream, too because, as you say, of the political instability and corruption, too. The most positive thing in CNEL's favour at the moment - and what has held it back previously - is the continuing rapid rise in the price of oil. No sign of that ending, either, with rapidly increasing world consumption and the current production restrictions of the cartels.

How refreshing to see an honest post on here instead of the usual "I made a killing on this and now I'm retiring to the bahamas" bull. I, too have been living in fear of my wife finding out just how much we've got invested here, even though her TYRU shares are actually in profit! (just). Likewise, I've never stopped believing in the potential of this company. I think, like a lot of AIM stock, they got such an hysterical reception on launch, people have gradually become disillusioned and sold at a loss. Let's be patient and see what the strategic review brings.

People keep raising this issue of RBs not holding any shares in CNEL as evidence he doesn't believe in the company. As a director of two companies with close links he has to beware of anything that could be interpreted as anti-competitive under UK and EU law e.g Sunbird landing a contract and giving construction contract to CNEL without offering to tender. He also needs to avoid any conflicts of interest.

Good post. My sentiments exactly. I don't see large volumes being traded here. The ones with big holdings are hanging on to them. Sure, I've averaged down over last few years, but not looking for quick sell. Something def brewing. Trying to remember when we last had CNEL rising into the close three days running.
