Agreed, there's a list of speculative stocks I'd have liked to short at one time or another in recent months if they hadn't been closing only - VAST, NUOG, PYC....As regards FFWD, I had the same experience as you a few weeks ago - IG told me it was closing only because of chronic lack of underlying liquidity, then lifted the ban next day. Go figure! I'm actually about 1/3 shares, 2/3 spreads in FFWD at the moment, which even though this may be a relatively stable or 'safe' stock, makes it necessary for me to watch it like a hawk for my own peace of mind, in case of any MM tomfoolery.

I'd have shorted it at something over 5p today, except IG is closing only on the stock at the moment.

the market makers will allow this to go far from where we are now without news; I certainly don't see people rushing to buy at the moment, but that's not to say that good news cannot turn a stock around on a pinhead.

There was a time two or three months ago when we had investee news RNSed by FFWD almost every day, it seemed. But now, our last news was on 23rd March, almost two months ago. Why has FFWD fallen silent, when our gimlet-eyed sleuths here and on Twitter spy good RNS-worthy news almost every day?

Predators - FFWD is more like a fund that a single startup which could fail at any early stage, having consumed considerable capital. Our holding in Aphria is maturing rapidly and looks like achieving exponential growth. We have already earned a handsome return on our investment there. Factom is slower-burning, but the capital investment at risk is tiny compared to the potential of our 3.64% holding. Other investees have greater or lesser potential, but are at a stage difficult to quantify, but taken together the risk is spread enough to be able to be confident that even if just one or two of the seven or eight investees comes good, we stand to earn a good overall return on investment.

The Chinese do not have a reputation for hard work in the face of adversity for nothing. I would say that the fall in the share price, coupled with the end of the exceptionally bad weather, the preparatory work that has been done, and the derisked nature of our contracts, combine to make a more compelling investment case here than ever. That is precisely why I am a buyer at this level.

So coming up on six months DD. Seems excessive to me for a small outfit like Leap. Perhaps complicated by the wish of other parties to go the IPO route?

does anyone really know the state of play re our investment in Leap? I know we were offered a sum last year for our 41% which was rejected, anything at all since then? I note that there was a projected IPO in the US for the middle of last year. Did anything happen there?
