Hi All
been good to see the SP finally reacting to the flow of positive news.
No one could have foreseen the drop to 12p along with the string of events that led to the SP collapse, albeit some on here were correctly questioning RD and the lack of progress. The production failure I suppose being the last straw?
I have to admit I was getting extremely nervous at 12p. The only thing the kept me in was the director and other RNS buys which made me think something was cooking.
Constructive discussion is always welcome as it brings greater understanding and clarity however the sarcasm and negative unrelated comments are unwelcome as we are all here for the same reason, whether short or long, and what will be will be whether we are right or wrong.
The turning point for me was the Kenya sale which came so quickly, this must have been discussed and agreed with the key players prior to RD resignation along with the new strategy, which if it wasn't RD's idea, meant he had to go??
I remember doing a DMS many years ago - Strategic Management was so interesting, how are decisions really made, In the board room - No, they are only finalised there.
The plan is being executed with haste which is great and if approved by the Kenya Gov Bodies in June is even better.
I am sure Tullow will be involved with the development given their knowledge and experience of the project.
Focus on Ghana provides short term revenue at reduced debt, debt cost and operating cost, however production and OP will impact the SP.
Kenya provides some longer term revenue which would never be recoverable without the sale. Always set achievable goals otherwise you are setting up to fail. Kenya deal is great and unexpected.
Its a plan that can be built upon and improves the companies chances of survival, while it looks for other opportunities
I am waiting for the refinancing of the 26 bonds before I make any decision on selling or at least reducing my holdings to less stressful level.
Keep up the constructive discussion folks, there has been some real informative information amongst some of the banter
GLA - preferably the longs
