os there was a small buyback in 2018 and then the 2019 buyback was cut short. No buybacks in the following 2 years. The first worthwhile buyback since the formation of LBG was last year, with a second worthwhile buyback just under way
os to put it simply for you, if the share buyback was at book value, the book value per share would remain the same. Purchasing under book value means that book value per share increases.
os ''For every £1 spent on buyback the book value goes down £1''
and the liability held on the books to shareholders including share capital goes down by the same amount.
I don't wish to continue to posting again and again but it is people like yourself (whingers) that make it necessary .
os So far 8.33 Billion shares have been purchased and cancelled at a cost of over a 30% reduction on book value.
I think purchasing each £1 of net value for 70p is a good investment. If you are not happy with that investment choice you are free to invest elsewhere. Do not complain about resolutions put forward by those who are employed to do so and then agreed with at an AGM vote by shareholders. Have respect for a vote.

flec ''because they were overvalued, with many held up by debt with no prospect of ever making a profit.''
yes I am more than happy being invested in profitable businesses making good returns to shareholders.
The last individual 'tech' stock that I remember buying was ARM in 1999 - only held for a short period with the good profits going into CLS holdings and BATS which had been completely battered with the fear of people winning court cases in the US against them, because they had cancer .
cook ''i dont agree with buybacks ,just give shareholders or special or what is due ,and we can decide what to do with our money, before we are left out in the cold , IT WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY''
cb ''The buybacks are a nightmare. Please give ME the money instead as a special divi and I will go and invest as I please.''
so many kbheads on here When are peoples brains going to compute the fact that the current policy is buybacks - if you do not like it then invest elsewhere. No amount of whinging posts on here are going to alter the policy that the BOD make. Some people just like endless moaning - what a miserable existence .
NC ''or do they default, KNOWING that they will never be evicted and can then use the saved sums for enjoying life ''
it must help you having other id's on the go - who on earth would rec this. So in your eyes someone can get a 100% mortgage or as close as is allowed, then not pay a single penny back and have a free house to live in for life.
