I am not aware at the moment about any dragging down of Lloyds Banking Group.
I am aware that fickle investors gave up Lloyds shares for the benefit of purchasers including UBS on behalf of shareholders.

I wasn't aware of any survey conducted targeting a certain category of Lloyds
shareholders.
A shareholder is a shareholder where the power of vote for a resolution is determined by the number of shares held.
I would prefer buybacks when shares are able to be purchased at well below NAV, but you would not get a single post from me complaining if the BOD decided immediately to stop share repurchases.

no matter how many times you bang your head on the wall, it still doesn't knock any sense into it.
The market is an exchange of shares, so no 'mopping up' and disposing of.
Lloyds pays well above an average dividend and sustainable.

Vodafone is yielding about 8% and has more than halved in share price in the last 5 years. It is like going round in circles with you.

A sustainable Lloyds dividend policy which is likely to be progressed will encourage investments for income but it doesn't determine a share price.

I pointed out that each £1 was being purchased for about 70p and as such book value per share would increase.

So to recap again -
A repurchase programme is a return to shareholders.
The percentage ownership for remaining shareholders increases.
Per share metrics improve.
As is taking place currently the book value per share will increase.
It is a very good investment for shareholders keeping shares for the longer term, as so is not the worse possible use of money as you have suggested.

I suggest you stop digging. I have said all that needs to be said on the matter- end of.
If you do not like the policy voted for by shareholders , I think it is about time you considered alternative investments more in line with your preferred policy options.
