on a subsequent post flec then gave you a link which I repeated at 17.10. This was a well known fact.

that was the point that I was referring to.
By you quoting 80%, that was dismissing the point that flec made, but instead of acknowledgement of that fact,which would have ended the point made, it then got diverted to shareholder descriptions.

I imagine the UK stocks are still mainly held by overseas investors.
You may find that UK pension funds don't have much of a stake in Lloyds at the moment.

my guess for 2023 would be 3 X 7 cents plus 14 cents final.

Higher base rates and hopefully another increase to come next week will help in bringing down inflation down from this hopefully short term spike in inflation.
Increasing rates has meant increasing NIM compared to a decade + of very low rates by historical standards, and much more interest earned on money held at the BOE.
A reduction in inflation to a 2% target does not mean that automatically a return to very low base rates. With increased rates, comes better earning,giving support to the current progressive dividend policy and further returns to shareholders currently via investment in Lloyds shares. A continued reduction in share numbers will further support dividend progression.

The market decides on a daily basis the value of Lloyds banking group.

yes, which is why I maintain only about a 10% cash level.

A high risk strategy for stock investors to liquidate with the hope/guess that stocks would have plunged enough from liquidation to then reinvest in stocks making it a worthwhile process. How much interest would investors on here get liquidating shares held in an ISA and keeping the cash in?.
I would get zero or close to zero, at the same time having missed out on substantial regular dividend payments that can be used on any market dips.

I imagine that this years buyback volumes got off to a lower start due to being based on a relatively low average volume in the previous period. Average volume has ticked up a bit since the start of the buyback and days like today will help

there can be exceptions where the limit on a particularly day can be exceeded.
