With a maintained/increased level of profitability, and with a continuation of share repurchases, then the dividend will be progressed each year.. I think that is a safe assumption to make.

If that were the case then Lloyds wouldn't currently have a forward yield of between 5.5 and 6.5%.

The market looks forward and will know that the dividend will be progressed.

A forward yield progressed to 5.5%+ would fit in with the progressive and sustainable policy, being helped with share repurchases and would be more than acceptable to me.

The level of dividend payments does not determine a share price.

Get your facts right before posting - There is no additional tariff that NOW apply.

The trade deal says that a certain percentage of an electric cars components by value need to be sourced in the UK - extra tariffs if not met would be applied starting next year when the percentage increases.

This is a two way agreement, with the same problem for EU exporters to the UK.

Solution - alter the agreement that would benefit both parties, by extending the time frame of percentage increases, allowing time for the UK and EU to increase their capacity to produce self sourced components..

Just a small amount fewer shares purchased than at the 57 day stage last year.

Providing there is enough volume and they do not stop using the algo as they did last year, then there is no reason for this years not to be completed comfortably before last years.

There is currently about 65.537 Billion shares, so without buybacks there would have been about 75.53 Billion shares on the market.

Now virtually dead on 10 Billion shares have been removed by recent repurchase schemes so could be 12 Billion+ at the end of the current one

I restrict SB's to mainly Lloyds, but I do the occasional one on other stocks.

I post my Lloyds SB trades as they are made for historical reasons (and shares) but no real reason for me to post other SB details.

I have been in and out of a BT SB today, so a good day for me.

Last share trade was a sale at about 150p - has yet to go high enough to sell more and didn't go low enough today for me to purchase - last purchase was a lot lower price on 30th December
