Just a reminder that it was the Labour budget that has kicked off inflationary pressures once more, meaning that higher increases in the state pension will required . NI increases have yet to start, which will have to be recouped by business somewhat with potential job cuts and higher prices passed on to the end customer.

It is beneficial for shareholders that buybacks are conducted at the lowest possible prices. Institutions won't be in a hurry to pump up the price, whilst sitting back and watching their percentage ownership going up with low priced buybacks.

Why

are some healthy young people wearing masks?

Most working people are under 65 and should go about their life as normal.

The reporting of increased cases of CV each day for some reason stokes up increased fear and with it a knock on effect on asset valuations due to worries of decreasing economic activity .

I cannot believe the futility of testing people for CV, and for those testing positive leaving society for a few weeks into isolation.

This is crazy.

I say the elderly should stay indoors as much as possible , and those in regular contact with the elderly taking very high precautions not to contract CV.

Stop the testing and isolation. Let the healthy working under 65's become exposed to CV, as the vast majority won't need more than a few paracetamol.

I have already given my opinion. We should stick with the current measures, without adding to them by closing down schools, pubs or restaurants etc.

Lots of businesses will only fold if the population do not carry on as normal or are not allowed to carry on as normal.

Isolating the vulnerable is the only thing that should happen.

Covid 19 was a once in a hundred year pandemic which had killed millions of people. Vaccinations are now available , which can help to prevent death from Covid 19 just as a Flu vaccinations can help prevent death from Flu.

the point of pension credit is to bring up payments to a minimum level. People receiving pension credit would not be tax payers

My opinion is that the tax free threshold should be set to £20,000, unfortunately it is not at that level

that is already the case - pensioners with an additional income source like a company pension would have their tax code adjusted to take account of any state pension received, In other words the state pension amount being taxed.

how much does the capital held as cash go up with inflation.

ffs when is it going to filter into your head, investing in shares is a risk where you may not get back the amount invested. it **** es me off people moaning when the risk that they took didn't work out the way their dream foresaw.

a portfolio of stock market investments is the best bet when it comes to maintaining capital value.,

your investment in lloyds to date with dividends reinvested may well have kept value with inflation.

not sure how you come to that conclusion with the Lloyds market cap at a low level - it is just not as good as buying at a £30 Billion market cap level.

the craziness was the cheap valuations of Lloyds over a number of years. Investors had years to take advantage
