Trade update due 16 may. Any hope it will lift price.

Easyjet is no longer a recovery stock in terms of its current financial record.

However the actual share price is definitely a recovery type share price but that is common to most of the UK stock market and Airlines are regarded as a particularly volatile type stock which can be negated by easyjet showing clear leadership and profit growth within the Airline sector. DYOR.

Holidays were about 25% of profit in 22/23 and H1 shows an increase of 80% in hols. This could equate to an increase of profit contribution by about £100M of hols. If the reduction in loss of about £60M in H1 reflected in the H2 period we could expect a further increase in overall profit of non holiday section from £333M by 10%.

This very crude guesstimate would give a profit total of £600M for 23/24 and a 20% divy of that to 750M shares gives a divy of 16p which is nearly x4 of last divy. We can all hope for more! The debate is not just what the divy might be but how a hugely increased divy might be reflected in SP! Thoughts welcome

There are probably millions of people who sold shares because their patience gave out. If its a share with prospects patience is all you need. I have 70K shares!

I have transferred from AJ BELLL to HL during the period ex divy to today. Will the divys go to aj bell and be forwarded to HL?

You are entitled to divy IF YOU OWN SHARES BY MIDNIGHT OF DAY BEFORE ex dividend date.

I am unsure whether your purchase counts if it has NOT been settled but I think maybe it is.

How many idiots must I filter out. The constant childish posts about nuts smacks of the school yard bullies. Now rants about QUBE, who cares nothing said here has any influence on them. What is the thing like canute commanding the waves to go back, the market cares nothing for your comment. Easyjet value of £4.2billion how much of that is held by the posters here. Wise up.

Automatic move to FTSE100 is when you are in TOP 90 companies. Easyjet is not yet in top 90 but very close. It also depends on how others change between now and March when the next revision of FTSE100 companies is made.

What does .75% short actually mean. I know shorting is selling others shares in expectation of a price fall.

How much was the dilution please.

With the FTSE up .15% today and easyjet up 1.3%. This has been the case in past days EASYJET outperforming the FTSE100. NOT a big deal but a good indicator of support imho.

Steady support all day is good sign.

I was at 516.5 and had bought down to 360 level. Agreed nothing changed indeed things look much brighter now than 2 years ago.

Since the drop this year to 360 i have held/done nothing. Finally today I am at Breakeven, been here before but the last few months has meant a rise of just over £123,000 in my holding. I mention this from the point of view that I did NOT sell which was a temptation. Holding and buying for 2 years is not exactly longterm but when I see the FTSes go down and Easyjet go up it is a comfort that there is more to come and my holding will pay off.

I can see replies relating to the nut. I filter 'nuts' out. The comment was about the longterm which is the only way to invest, anyone not considering that is a fool.

Currently with a capitalisation of approx £3774 million there are 3 Ftse100 member with a slightly lower capitalisation than Easyjet.

However to be automatically moved into the FTSE100 in March'24 (ie be in the top90 companies by capitalisation) the value would need to be above £4373million which is about a 16% increase from today (assuming none of the current bottom 10 increase to above £4373million).

The next trading update in January is unlikely to provide exciting news so I'm not sure how it will all play out but it will get there eventually and hopefully by this time next year following a much bigger divy payment announcement.
