Cheers SG900, thank you for your time in answering my question - most of my own analysis on this share is based around numbers & data that have come from drilling, so it's good to read about how to achieve what is actually the point of all of this - to get the gold out of the rocks! Thanks stargazer that's really interesting. Do you know how this process compares to a production environment in terms of getting the gold out? Just interested.

Have been thinking about the recent JVs - so which is the most likely reason that Newcrest have not negotiated a deal on Scallwag...

(1) Not discussed: Despite extensive JV negotiations on Black Hills & PRE, Scallywag didn't even crop up in conversation...

(2) Not wanted: In the highly prospective Paterson, Newcrest think there is nothing but dust there - it's simply a road between Havieron and Telfer

(3) To expensive: GGP asking crazy money - no deal

(4) Not at this time: They've got their hands full but maybe a deal in the future

(5) Awaiting results: GGP insist that they want to find out drill results before entering negotiations, but negotiations will start once results hit the market.

(6) Already in progress: Currently under negotation

In all seriousness, we know that the majors are trying to snap up as much of this area as possible. I would argue that due to Scallywag's stategic position, it's probably the one out of all GGPs tenements that it wanted most. Can you imaging the results are put out to market and are very, very good? A company such as Rio could really upset the applecart by going in with an offer for a JV, slap bang in the centre of another JV. So my point is, if you want to see corporate tension in the Paterson, this spot is a perfect catalyst.

Well, after waiting so long for some operational update, people have been posting large lists of all the GGP related newsflow coming up in the next month - and then we get some news and it's....absolutely none of them!!!

No worries - I tried to copy and paste it but it wouldn't let me . Anyway it's strange the way LSE shows this figure - they must have the correct data but format it in the way it's shown - think that bit of code needs an overhaul!

As others have indicated, maybe with MSMNs history it's going to have to show categorically that money is coming in from all the workovers and new drilling before some investors are willing to get involved. I've been following this for some months now and I feel the company is definitely going in the right direction. I am going to top up early next month so there's a good chance things'll spike just before I do....
