I was looking at dates overnight because I am a little concerned about any covid hitting my area.

For Scotland:
Schools break up for Easter and go back on 19th April.
26th April - date when there MAY be a relaxation of rules - but I don't know any details yet.

I hope all those who have had their 1st shot get their 2nd shot in time for it to boost effectiveness to prevent further mutations (in 2 England variants, it was a single person who caused the mutation).

Even if you have had both jabs, a) 1 in 20 can still get the disease (Pfizer), and b) the current jabs are not effective against all the variants (notably SA I believe).

Will they make Cheltenham a virtual event I wonder? (I'm not holding my breath - I'm just hoping the border stays shut until that super spreader event has run through its spike.)

Re divi comment: Any think earned in an ISA is tax free, and losses are not tax deductible.

I'm was talking about divis from other sources. SIPP payouts are classed as income, so you hit the 20% bracket pretty quickly.

Because I'm that little bit older than many.t here, I'm going for the pay as little tax as possible in .retirement option based on my current assets which is the ISA for me. Even if it takes a couple of years to move the profits across, I can take the annual CG and dividend allowances (particularly as divis only attract 7% taxable rate for lower income levels).

Any trades snd divisi in your ISA are free of tax right now. Move your £20k allowance over each tax year.... including the current one

I agree with your view - the news of cancer trial recruitment is the first one I'm expecting.

Obviously that in itself depends on the NHS having the capacity (which is dependent on a drop in covid cases). Universal covid vaccines will become more important as mutations cannot be prevented/contained effectively without closing borders and strict quarantines.

I agree with the view that articles are good. As usually, the Fool gets it wrong - whether it is deliberate or not, IDK.
