Afternoon all. LTH will want the best deal possible for JV, clearly AM will want the same. No rush job. It's my understanding, unless I've missed something and despite having repayed some of the SLF, that there remains; ''an accordion feature whereby the borrower may draw up to a maximum of $20million for future development, at the sole discretion of the Lender''. Sensible 'rainy day' funds whilst JV is being negotiated with a view to repaying the SLF and seeing significant incremental increases in production kick in for November onwards.

If you say so, bit sensationalist though. Not bothered as long term holder, let's just wait and see what happens.

Morning all. Whilst news is welcomed, it will come when it comes. You don't rush through things at this level when such a significant asset is at stake. Totally chilled with this despite being significantly down. This is not the January transfer window, I'd be extremely worried if we were subjected to such bite size frenzy. We had news at the start of the month, end of. Happy to wait, and if I want weekly news I'll buy a Sunday newspaper.
Not being flippant, I have hard earned money at stake, but not in the least bit worried. I look at mcap, asset, geopolitics, longevity and motivation. On the last point, namely motivation, I factor in (possibly incorrectly but it is my opinion only), the LEGACY dynamic. We all know of people within our families, friends etc. who own small/medium/big businesses be they builder firms, bakeries, haulage, farmers, retail businesses, quarry owners etc., I'm sure you'd agree that many of these have been in the family for years, handed down through a few generations. This is fundamentally a human instinct factor, it is an economic 'hunter gatherer' trait. Given his 40 years in the industry, his acknowledged 'oil man' background and persona, the fact that his daughter (in this case) is clearly very much involved in running COPL, with growing influence I'm assuming, then I'm of the view that this is AM last tango. He's had his up and downs, but he'll be determined to nail this one. Massive find means a huge asset, strengthened by clever acquisition. He's canny enough not to rush this one. Blood, water and oil and all that...... .
One more thing, the markets are currently brutally flat and depressing......there's hardly any disposable income coming into the investment vehicles, especially at the riskier end. Hey ho, a flutter and spike here and there in some of the O&G small caps, loads of spivs trying to earn their way etc etc; give me a soon to be profitable producer with a billion barrel discovery any day. Do your own research, but this will come good, it's an investment and will have all the ups and down of the extractive industry, but it will be big. It's the oil what does it. GLALTH

Try as I might, and as a investor you should always be questioning, I always come to the same conclusion, namely COPL has a huge asset on it's hand here. Mcap...asset...geopolitics....market need......extractive industry hurdles to overcome....lots of oil.....increased production......improving field knowledge......tiny mcap...., very happy and confident to hold here. The worm will and is turning. GLALTH

Morning all. Yes, that's a cracking deal to aquire CUDA, a producing asset that's incrementally contributed a significant amount of oil to COPL's portfolio. Of course it's the deeps that will really get things going. CUDA price is peanuts if when you consider where oil prices are going. Excellent deal. GLALTH

I can only draw the conclusion that there's a huge effort by the usuals to buy shares (as cheap as possible), and that leads me to ask - why? Afternoon all. Don't understand or agree with any panic here. COPL confirmed 8 days ago that 'technical due diligence' was underway regarding JV. I imagine, and expect, that this is a highly regulated and robust process (this is O&G we're talking about), luckily, COPL are not located in a geographical location affected by instability (like many small cap O&G companies), It's also onshore (both factors help for obvious reasons).
Let's put this in a timeframe perspective (all from recent personal experience); it takes me 3 weeks to get a GP appointment; 2 month wait for dentist; 10 weeks for some new recycling bins, 8 weeks to get a DBS, I could go on.........
Happy in the knowledge that 8 days ago we were officially told of JV developments......onwards and upwards. GLALTH

Morning all. Quick check in. It's been an illuminating week. Production steady, if unremarkable, with an only way is up trajectory. 6 wells with significant potential to add to the inventory. Debt reduced. Breakeven closer by the day, not insignificant for a small cap O&G company (indeed production itself is rare at these levels, never mind breakeven territory). Good to see that majors will be looking to invest for tax and environmental factors. Let's face it COPL have a lot of independently confirmed oil (and land to offset), with a very attractive 40 odd year shelf life. WTI prices are around the right price too, general consensus it that it will remain at these levels for quite some time. Future looks good here. Not expecting miracles, but steadily heading towards a high end mid-cap territory in the next 12 months. I'm of the opinion that a buy out will be done within the 24-36 month window, the product and headwind dynamics are all favourable for such a conclusion.
Hilariously desperate posting by some the past few days. Anyone got the feeling they're running out of runway? Not been a good week has it, no points scored on production or bonds really, markets just doing the usual really. Isitawinnif, hat's off fella, the oedipus complex troll at work himself. Selling up in the morning because of you, I'm just waiting for your wise confirmation on a few more contentious issues, namely; is there actual oil in that Wyoming soil - or is COPL just making it up, like you do kind of thing? This leads me, crucially, to a more vexing question; does Wyoming exist? Really not sure, I'm kind of in that corridor of uncertain denial (isitashortalietypething), appreciate any help on it . Market didn't quite interpret the so called 'poor' production as quite that 'poor' it would seem. A real long arduous shift put in by the spiv squad for a -2.7% drop on a very poor day for the markets overall. I take that to mean the markets were reasonably ok with productions levels that can only go one way from here, and it's not down (+ six more wells, and more flaring across the field). I'm liking this lifestyle company. If people believe some of the nonsense posted today, then investing is not for you. COPL are oil rich in crazy looking world. Some money coming over from gold into oil it would appear. That will do me.....and underpin my belief that oil will attract increasing attention in the next few years. Anyway GLALTH, still a traders dream here, but not for long.

All good here if you're not expecting a multibagger tomorrow. COPL is now in the sights of the big-guns, confirmed as fact. Production still key, and that will soon increase significantly. OPEC will see to higher than expected oil prices. USA will have to significantly increase domestic oil production. COPL suggest there's an underestimation of 30% in their non JV field, soon to be verified independently, that sounds good. Worm will turn here, happy to wait.....it's all that COPL oil what does it. COPL will go well in this 'permacrisis' world.....oil talks. GLALTH

Oiler - you must be one of the most underdeveloped 'investors' on this board, I like you, in the same way as Blackadder liked Baldrick type way, you pass the time. You seem to have 'proven' conspiracies re: bonds, that many slightly more 'sophisticated' investors don't quite fathom. Me, being unsophisticated, doesn't give 2 brownies. All small-cap companies use a plethora of funding vehicles in order to GROW, that's the essence of it, that's how business works.......maybe you would like to comment on the billion discovery?
