That ftse Russel took notice of the update yesterday and institutions. The only thing Russian about poly is that the gold is in Russian ground. Not selling to Russia or the west. Neutral. Would be good to see some institutions buying in from here. Directors too.

If this statement "the Board and the management continuously evaluate stability, liquidity and solvency of the business in light of multiple external uncertainties" wasn’t mentioned by a previous ftse 100 firm I would be more concerned than it being mentioned given current circumstances.

I spoke to Evgeny about potential sanctions on the gold industry. His view is we aren’t selling gold to Europe or Russia so remaining neutral. However the evolving situation is monitored daily. I also mentioned to him that we shouldn’t be in a closed period now, would directors consider a buy? It has been referred to them. If I was a director I would be buying that’s for sure. Could more than quadruple your holding for their previous buy ins… pretty good position all things considered. Best to avoid the divi for time being, pretty greedy for shareholders to want and expect anyway, considering the discount you can purchase at today.

No that’s never going to happen. 20% shares on moex. Company has already thought about that and gave an explanation as to why it will never happen on the investor call. Refer to it.

Response to America trading

Now, we’re aware of the situation in America that unfolded yesterday. First, the Bloomberg header (“sanctions apply to this security”), and the stop of ADR program in the US are probably related. While we are at a loss to explain the actions of the market makers and Bloomberg data team, we suspect that the decision may have something to do with the new sanctions published on the 6th June. https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/financial-sanctions/faqs/1054

Presumably, banks/brokers and data providers believe that we’re subject to this blanket restriction when in fact we are not, as Polymetal shares have not been “issued by an entity in the Russian Federation”. We are challenging this with Bloomberg and with BNY Mellon.

For the record we are not under any sanctions as of this morning, and shares on LSE continue to trade, from what I see only ADRs in the US stopped trading.

the divi was not paid as the MOEX shareholders could not gain access to the divi as it would be held within the russian treasury. So this will not change until that situation changes or the company splits.

Referring back to the investor call. News on auditor this month and a road map for the company split which “will maximise the return for shareholders”. This will also open the door for divi to be paid again. So fundamentally the company is not affected by day to day war rhetoric, it will be judged considerably more on the actions in the next 2 to 4.

At 26p the Mcap was £990m because at 1.4p the mcap is £55m. The outstanding is £500m, the sp has been as as 40p in 2020. Whilst I appreciate the warnings being put on the rns, there is clearly meat on the bones for an offer less the cost of settling the outstanding. Wait and watch now.
