people talking about a split26 Jan 2023 18:14
At this price it makes no odds, the Kazak assets are worth our Mcap. So even if the russian assets were taken instead of sold it would make no odds at all. Also people criticising the Kazak market, it won't be an more illiquid than MOEX currently will it. That is so illiquid in Moscow that the shares are still rising.
Ultimately, people expected dividend news yesterday, they shouldn't have. People see this as delisting tomorrow, it won't do. People think Blackrock are selling, they probably aren't. People think that Blackrock wont hold a Kazak listed stock.... I guarantee you they will hold shares for Polymetal in the emerging markets funds which hold £616m under management, of which 3.4% is held in mining and 1% in Kazak already. They also met with Tokayev in December 2021 to encourage more funds to enter the market. So people really need to get a grip. With the small number of II's that we have on board, do you not think the info about the Kazak market was taken to them before it was released to us? Stop worrying about your pocket money. There needs to be a shareholder vote and nothing will happen until 2024. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow. Stop setting up Kazak bank accounts, stop trying to trade Poly shares with 2 bit online firms that cannot trade the shares based on their lack of ability to trade shares that arent recognised by FTSE Russell. There is more to life than worrying about Poly dropping back to it's previous trading range. If you are not happy call Evgeny yourself. if you don't have his phone number, email him or start adding board members on linkedin. The board genuinely like passionate shareholders that show an interest in their business, rather than trading for fun.
