FTSE 100 down 42 points22 Aug 2022 16:14
The FTSE 100 nursed its losses in afternoon trading as US stocks opened lower on Monday ahead of a big week, with all eyes on the Fed’s annual symposium at Jackson Hole in Wyoming and the release of data including the latest US durable goods and GDP figures.
Just after the open, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had shed 380 points or 1.1% at 33,327 points, while the S&P 500 index was down 55 points or 1.3% at 4,174 points, and the Nasdaq Composite had dropped 196 points or 1.5% at 12,509 points.
