With apologies for re-posting from last night (so might have been missed), I think these guys may be our only direct competitor - in terms of product (an inhaled form of IFN), though behind us in timing (they're moving to do more trials after reporting on an uncontrolled trial in China)? Thoughts appreciated.

@MoreThanMe, great find. Really watchable presentation and fantastic endorsement. From ~22min in he speaks about Covid-19 and Influenza. Paraphrasing …
‘Going to be so important for next Influenza season …’
‘Covid-19 switches off IFN mechanism that inhibits the spread of Influenza virus …’
‘Giving back IFN will greatly reduce the case fatality from Influenza …’
So, my take, we need SNG001 generally available in time for the Influenza season (as well as for Covid-19), so that means manufacturing at large-scale very soon.
He also suggests Phase III trials for 000’s of patients in, for example, Brazil and other countries – though I would expect ‘fast-track’ approval for use anytime soon.

SNG probably will (and should) be bought out to ensure that this treatment reaches the people that need it – and that needs ‘big pharma’ scale.
On the subject of treatments (not vaccines), is there any competition?
Remdesivir efficacy debateable. Dexamethasone maybe as a last resort under certain circumstances. Hydroxychloroquine – moving rapidly on!

Conifer Management LLC as the ‘person subject to the notification obligation’ (item 3. On the TR-1 RNS of 10/06/20) could be acting directly or on behalf of (as advisors to) the Sequoia Fund.
So the 8.3m shares (£10m @ 120p) holder (my take) probably Conifer, possibly Sequoia.
One to discuss while we wait?
Checking out full holdings is a bit harder than top 10, and we won’t be in the top 10 of either of these funds, just yet anyway! Probably need to see their next quarterly reports.

Top of the list is their AP-003 “novel interferon alpha2b (IFNa2b) inhalation formulation”.
Most will know about the enthusiastic (for IFN treatment) Dr Eleanor Fish, the (uncontrolled) trial in China and their ongoing acquisition of Altum (who actually have the patent for AP-003).
So really just saying that they are still around, perhaps trying to keep some attention (say) before news lands from elsewhere?

Seems they have 'small' antibodies that can be engineered to create 'nanobodies' yhat bind to and block viruses. Rings a bell? Why bother the poor beasts (even if the blighters have been known to bite) when you can have virus blocking affimers made precisely to measure.
No need to experiment on Llamas then.

Neutralising Affimers, apparently have the potential to ‘block’ virus progression. Now who wouldn’t want that, at least temporarily ahead of a vaccine being developed – guess we’ll need some natural immunity eventually, antibodies etc.? Just need a ‘big pharma’ partner, so something else to look forward to.
preCision – “eliminates the side effects” of chemotherapy, wow! Like really, really fantastic for humanity.

The (different) interactions of type III interferons (IFN-?) seem much less well understood than type I. Another paper just published shows how complex the interactions are …

However the ending summary is more positive but highlights that IFN-? (specifically) needs more work …

Suggests timing and dosage very important. No doubt the model developed by SNG for the use of IFN-ß accounts for such things. Roll on results.
