Traders apart,the share value should not be affected at all by any delay in hookingup,assuming it ever happens.If the shares are worth say 60p on hook up,they will be worth 60p whenever this happens.If there is a delay of 6 months they will still be worth 60p then.Lets all go to sleep until hook up !

Uk stockmarkets don't perform in isolation to the global economy,ie the colour of the UK Government is not the only factor involved,However the Tory philosophy,before the current leftish one,of believing in smaller Govt,less over regulation,free trade,lower rates of tax, has been good for company profitability which is by definition good for employees.Less unemployment helps everyone.Higher share prices are good for Pension funds.Not only the rich benefit.Also that philosophy allows gifted ,hard working entrepreneurs to become 'filthy rich' again benefitting the rest of us both financially and in showing an example us.You don't have to be well off to make money from the stockmarket.If you cant invest personally for whatever reason,your pension fund whether privately or company scheme is doing it for you

Monetary tightening in US and Uk is merely returning interest rates to somewhere nearer normal.Inflation is well under control and GDP growth is forecast at 2.7% and 1.6% respectively.Europe has bigger issues in that banks haven't recovered as well from 'credit crunch',QE started much later and the Euro is structurally unsound.Political unrest is a problem too due to democratic deficiency

Casapinos,you read too many papers.Financial journalists are just ,journalists first and foremost.The US economy is robust.UK economy is sound,GDP will grow on all major economies next year,corporate profitability has been excellent this year.will still be good next.Interest rates are rising yes but from an unnatural low .They are not rising to curb inflation but back to normal.Only EU is dodgy due to structural problems around Euro and non democratic governance.Cheer up and enjoy Xmas

It makes great sense for Ireland to be one political unit,then they can sort out there own religious divisions.If Scotland goes too we get more cash for ourselves until they beg to come back.No deal would be great after the initial shock waves,cheaper food to oil the wounds and £39 to subsidise what is hurt initially.

Politics yes,but there is not a lot wrong with the economics of US or UK.Europe though is a disaster waiting to happen especially if they don't have a 'deal'

Banks only exist to lend money .If they didn't lend they would go out of business.Banks compete with each other just like any other businesses.There appears to be no lenders strike here.Sxx will need bankers throughout its life and all of them will want to be involved if they have any business sense
