I have seen it too many times for the share price to fall well back after ex div. I also think there is a gap at 2240.5 from last week. Lets see what happens in the next couple of weeks, as of course I want them sold shares back as 90% of my holding is in Shel, with a lot of battle scars enroute.

Sold some more early this morning. I am short of 2911 shares, which I will HOPE to buy after ex divi. I am knee deep in this share, so will try and eek out a profit whenever possible, with the odds in my favour. Have managed to rinse and repeat several times.

Two things concern me, one windfall tax, which will have some effect, as noise is getting louder, secondly with EX Div on Thursday, we always fall far more than the dividend. I hope to sell another 5% before Thursday.

I have sold 5% of my holding, see what happens after ex.

Never had problem with X-O Jarvis (nominees account), money generally in on the morning it is due. Lots have complained about Barclays, and Halifax on these boards. If you are not happy, then move brokers.

This is a trading stock, I bought yesterday at 2025, sold at 2095 at 12.23pm. Not perfect but good enough for me. I have loads anyway, so if I lose a few, not a problem. Next sale will be 2130, I only sell/buy £10000 worth of stock at a time.

I too use Jarvis XO for trading, Sipp & Isa, dividends in all accounts yesterday afternoon.
I moved my Sipp from AJ Bell, appalling service and high costs, could not even execute limit orders when others could, then they hide behind terms and conditions. M
Moved trading account from interactive investor, when they started to increase their charges.
At £5.95 per trade and no costs apart from the Sipp, I cannot argue with that.

You would have thought a rise would have been happening today, in view of us going ex div at 16.30hrs. At 4.44p dividend we will be back in the £1.20s when trading ex div.

We also need to consider the other cost of this war, Shell having to sell out of Russia, that is going to hit the bottom line, it will be limited by the fact of the high oil price, so profits if any in the next quarter will be hit.
The BOD should reduce the debt which will then show lower profits until things get back to normal, whatever that may be.

Share buy backs is a losing battle with LLOY, they just issue more for sharesave schemes. It is just like flogging a dead horse.
