I thought this was written down in the last quarterly results. The value was written down, so is it not new news. I know they were trying to find a buyer if at all possible, however that would have been a bonus.

You are not alone making mistakes. I bet the farm on this share and I at 2450 was making life changing amount of money of several hundred thousand pounds, and not a penny to the tax man, as it is in ISAs and Sipps spread through all the family. I will now continue holding receiving dividends until we recover, which are more than most people get paid in a month, which was even more, until we got that dividend cut.
I now get ear ache form the missus everyday for my mistakes.....yes Mrs Hindsight.

To exit Russia was a one off hit was 3.9Billion, that was hardly denting us, as the price of oil mitigated that effect. If they do a WFT say 2 billion, and that is it, then it would be welcomed and the end of the matter. Yes, is war had not happened then we would not be making as much. Onwards and upwards.

It does not help when Looney from BP makes comments like "we are making so much money that we do not know what to do with it".
How he got to be CEO with comments like that is beyond me. I suppose with a name like that says it all.

The shares I sold, I was a forced seller, as they were in a nominee account, so would have had to pay tax on all dividends, as already over £2k threshold, and would have paid I think 30% tax. The rest are all in tax wrappers, Sipp, Isa etc.
So I will get at least 10k in dividends, plus a few extra shares

I was 5000 short, have bought back 2500 and see which way we go.

You need to profit take, otherwise you sometimes see them diminish before your eyes.

I have sold £100k worth, so if they drop, I buy, if they go up, I make profits. Cannot lose either way.

I am pointing out the pricing mismatch on yield, I hold in excess of 50k shares, so not at all bearish on these
