Thanks for posting that, a very interesting and significant point indeed. I have to be honest I'm still not convinced KOD will go the same way as FFX as the layers of contracts and how a JV can be set up can get very complicated. I'm also aware the directors of KOD have their pay packets tied up with KOD's SP. A lot to consider but I will be doing more research into FFX and what happened there. Thanks again for the input and apologies to anyone I riled before I had the facts at hand.
Thanks, that is fair enough. How though does Future Minerals play into this though? It's also a reasonable question, as they are the local company holding all the licenses including the licence to mine. I hope you can see the ambiguity here. BA also states in his latest RNS that the new company will deal with the 10% to 20% cut for the Malian Gov. It also not unreasonable to stipulate that they may make changes to the subsidiary Future Minerals to only account for the Li at the main Bougouni site for a JV in order to deal with the Malian legal side of it all. Therefore we don't know for certain that KOD and it's SP will be damaged by this. It could just be a local legal mater that needs to be managed effectively. Just another angle on this question and of course all well worth bearing in mind.
OnlyK, my intentions were not to cause any ill-feeling, however, you made a statement that BA said he'd form another company to deal with the Li. Either yourself or someone else also stated this is the law in Mali. This lead to some thinking we might go the same way as FFX in terms of our SP. I hope you can see how this might be interpreted as de-ramping if it wasn't based on facts.
It is not at all unreasonable of me therefore to question the validity of these statements. I am unable to locate where, in the latest RNS, BA states this. I've been in KOD well over a year now, well invested and keep up to date with RNSs. I can not recall anywhere BA stating he is going to set up a new company to deal with the Li. So I'll rephrase my question: could you post a date to the RNS where this statement is made, also please indicate which paragraph it is in?
That will settle it I hope, thanks.
BA states a new company will be formed to allow the Malian government to get their 10% to 20% cut. It does not state anywhere in writing about forming a new company to deal with the Lithium. Perhaps you are misread or perhaps you are a deramper (there are plenty about) or perhaps I have missed some RNS deep in the depths of KOD? Otherwise it is look most likely to be a KOD JV with a major. Like GGP thet could just specify Bougouni within the agreement for a %. JVs can be tailored. Do of course do your own research!
Didn't intend to disheartened fpv, it is of course very complicated. I'm dubious about the statement someone else made that it is Malian law to demerger interests. I feel BA is canny enough to get KOD the best deal possible whichever way the cat is skinned! A very significant couple of months ahead for all of us. Good luck all!
Thanks for the clarity on the demerger scenario. KOD has it's subsidiary Future Minerals which holds all the Li in Mali. If a major is only interested in the Li then rather than demerger later wouldn't they just go Future Minerals? Speculation of course but let's not forget BA and the other directors have their pay packets tied up with KOD's SP. Whichever way they structure the deal they'll want KOD's SP to reflect it. All I know is I'm not selling until we know at least what Bougouni West holds!
We are at the final stages now heading to financing the mine for construction and into production. The next RNS is most likely to be the most critical one for investors so I just wanted to wish everyone GOOD LUCK on here.
It has been a journey and this board has offered valuable insights at times. None of us know which way this will now go, joint venture, take over and either way at what price. Time will tell now, good luck all!
I could do with a turn of luck! I don't want to tempt fate though so will say no more Lav! Come on Bernie spill the beans now, confirm what's going on in Shanghai and get this Lithium show on the road (quite literally get that Lithium out the ground and into EV batteries cruising along). GLA!
A JV pilot mine set to the right tonnage allowing Kodal to then go off and price up Bougouni West and all there other concessions - oh you tease Lav, you tease!!! That's like fantasy league LSE, our SP would roof it!!!
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there has been significant conversation behind the scenes over the last six months with Suay Chin and Kanglongda all eluding to getting our KOD mine up and running. Stuff like this doesn't just happen by chance. Let's see some ink on dotted lines BA. Come on KOD!
Lav/Daz agree on the buyout risk for sure. I was in BCN and that went to the wolfs at a way lower price than was fair. However, that was some time ago and the EV revolution is well underway now. The likelihood of complete collapse is of course there but I maybe being optimistic but I think it unlikely. The demand for Lithium is so high it's more the case of sifting through the offers. Let's not also forget BA's pay packet is tied up with
Getting the mining licence- done
Financing the construction of the mine
Production
His timing can be optimistic at times and he's a bit slower than we'd all perhaps like, but he is thorough, good to his word so far and in it with us on the SP. I'm hoping like most of us for a good JV then production but let's see. I appreciate everyone's point of view here.
Given the amount of lithium in the ground, and potential for finding more on the other concessions and the EV explosion climate we are in, I find it hard to believe there isn't something in the pipeline. Given also BA's language and the fact he has integrity from what I can make out this is pointing most likely to a JV. FFX have one next door so seems the most likely outcome. Let's see though, the ducks are lined up now and the next move is, I think we can all agree, a very significant one!
Then there are our of 7 concessions to explore in a Lithium rich area of West Africa. The current market cap is tiny in comparison to the potential. Depending which source you look at we could be a top 15 Li producer. Chuck in Bouguni West plus anything else we can find on our other 7 concessions and we could easily in 5 years time find ourselves as a top 10 Li produces in the EV revolution. Our market cap then I can comfortably say won't be the sub £50mils. Surely then we'll be in the billion+ region!
