Hi Kat - I never worry about trying to time a trade to perfection, for me the trade has value or it doesn't. Anywhere around these levels I believe buys have value.

Gold does not tend to surge in times of regional wars, it tends to spike a little on speculation and then fall back. If you think about it Gold's biggest influence is USD, why would USD devalue due to this regional war? I'm just happy that Gold seems to have stabilised around $5k, although $4.5k would be good enough for me.

Joe75 - Not sure how long you have been invested in MTL? But when Darren Bowden arrived we had a market cap of around £30 million with every chance of going bust in months. You can call it "Hero Worship" if you like, but an investment in MTL is an investment in it's management which is led by Darren Bowden. True, we have had a few setbacks in the past 6 months, but you risk setbacks if you invest in Gold miners. Look at the progress with the La India build, if that's not a quality management team executing a plan I don't know what is. The ex Gurkha rifles captain that ran CNR could not dream of progressing the project so quickly. The weak hands will be shaken out and those that remain will see their investments grow significantly by the end of the year.

Did he talk about why he was incapable of financing and building a Gold Mine? You ex-CNR guys are now becoming very tedious indeed. You don't build a new Gold mine in days or weeks. Next steps are Analyst site visit and Q1 results together with La India build and drilling progress. Darren Bowden is doing a first class job here, if you don't like him sell your stock, it's that simple!"

Surrey - I expect my definition of a "good thing" is different to yours. With an average of 2.2p for my MTL shares I'm not complaining. On the other hand your CNR investment has tripled since MTL bought you out, so that's not a "bad thing" for you. Just don't blame MTL for your poor investment in CNR in the first place.

I see the bedwetters are out in force. For goodness sake, up a penny down a penny it's just noise. Right now we are a single, almost depleted, resource company, with a new mine being built in Nicaragua. Until the risk is removed from the new mine build and it is producing, then we will see little or no credit for it in the share price. Take your shares, put them in the (metaphorical) drawer and forget about them for six months. If our thinking about this company is correct, all will come good around Q4.

CommandoKai - The main risks I believe are Jurisdiction risk for both the Philippines and Nicaragua and execution risk on the new mine. On jurisdiction, you should form your own opinion. On execution risk for the new mine I believe this is minimal. We have the cash to build the new mine and management skills to deliver on time. Price of Gold is also a risk, but with our forecast AISC of ~$1200 the price can fall an awful lot before it begins to hurt us. I'm budgeting at a POG of $4,000 with most bullion banks forecasting $6,000+ DYOR but this is not one of the many AIM management lifestyle Gold companies. It's a diamond in the rough.

I must say Lee and Major, your constant bickering is getting rather tedious. Give it a rest!

Anyone see the £1 million trade go through at 14:10 today? First time I have seen a single trade of that size.
