Thank god we got La India at the right price and at the right time. Plus the new highly prospective licences in Nicaragua could not have been better timed. Seems that mining in the Philippines is going belly up and can't be regarded as a stable long term reliable jurisdiction. Regardless of the fact that Darren lives there, we should be looking at moving the company and process plant to some other jurisdiction where there is more certainty about the future. Conceivably, at some point being in the Philippines could actually start hurting the share price.

Every part of the processing plant would need to be upgraded, have you seen the scale of the civil engineering? The plant would need to be taken out of production for many months, with all of the lost production that would entail. The loss of production would cost more than the cost of an addition plant. So I expect the plant will stay at 1.8 million tons per annum, plus maybe a bit because Darren always understates things.

I wish it was as simple as "I'm sure it will have been designed to be expandable. We'll just make the one we've got bigger!"

EL - You may be correct, but we may run into capacity issues with the new plant. So my assumption is based on we have to build another processing plant. With existing capacity used fully by La India plus already known resources within the La India tenement.

New exploration licences with good potential reserves are great. But, bear in mind green field to production is often 5 to 10 years. This is good news but La India production is more important in the short to medium term.

Biox is a tricky, unpredictable process. You will remember we lost 6 weeks production to cyanide contamination that killed the bugs. I would expect that they would steer away from processing copper ore with biox and look toward a more traditional method. They could still use the Runruno plant, would need to spend a bit on money on reconfiguration.

28 - The reason they can't use the original motor control centres is they have replaced the motor and gearbox on each mill, so that each uses the same which enables them to stock one set of spares rather than two. It's likely they need a different control system to the original, plus of course they are running two mills rather than just the one that came from Alaska.

AU - I think you are reading too much into the 138 KV line going to La India. Fact is the Nicaraguan national grid is being upgraded to 138 KV so the line into the site will be the standard voltage. 34.5KV relates to the equipment, including transformers that came from Alaska, that were fed by a 34.5KV spur from the Alaskan grid. They will need a step down transformer from 138 KV to 34.5 KV for the La India substation. Plus additional transformers (which they will already have, being bought in the Alaskan package), to step down to the operating voltage (480/277/110V) for motors, lighting and other machinery.

When they are used it will be a kind of dilution, as they will be added to outstanding shares for market cap/PE purposes.

We have Treasury Shares: 299,385,458 outstanding, multiplied by .1350 = £40,417,036 value available to part fund/fund an acquisition. As these shares are readily available the board does not need shareholder approval to use them.
