DHSC asked to review the point of care technologies out there in UK for genomics .below is the report they submitted. This has been presented in recent high level NHS forum .

according to the NIHR Innovation Observatory’s June 2025 “Emerging Point-of-Care Testing in Genomics” report, Genedrive is highly aligned with NHS priorities and considered one of the most advanced, market-ready genomic POCTs.

Here are the key points directly from the report:

• Both Genedrive CYP2C19 and MT-RNR1 were specifically listed as Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL 9) — meaning they are fully approved and available for clinical use

They are among the only three UK-approved genomic POCTs with both CE and UKCA marks, alongside the Genomadix system

The MT-RNR1 test (for antibiotic-induced deafness) and CYP2C19 test (for clopidogrel treatment decisions) were highlighted as examples of real-world, fully automated, “sample-in-answer-out” genomic assays suitable for non-specialist NHS staff at the bedside — exactly the model NHS England is seeking for genomic adoption

The report positions Genedrive as one of the top validated and deployment-ready POCT genomic systems directly matching NHS England’s pharmacogenomics and patient-safety goals. This reinforces its suitability for national rollout, particularly across stroke, cardiology, and neonatal pathways.

Calm down slacker , go read NHS 10 year plan and swift allocation of 5 BN pounds for genomic services . LOT 1 goes to Manchester Trust and do u know who is backing Gendrives both tests ???

Pharmacogenomics (PGx) sits at the heart of the NHS’s precision-medicine ambition because it connects genetic data → prescribing decisions → patient safety and cost savings.

The 10-Year Plan explicitly mentions reducing adverse drug reactions (ADRs) — which cost the NHS over £1 billion a year and account for ~6.5% of hospital admissions. PGx is seen as a direct solution to this problem.

It’s consolidating very well from recent highs … usually we are 50% down from highs (GDR standards) , there is a clear sign that there is a wider market interest and good media coverage .

For stroke/TIA patients, clopidogrel is prescribed immediately, So they need POC , for proactive testing they might use lab .

@Eureka, GDR kit not explicitly mentioned in this document but it will be used in emergency settings . We will have a clarity very soon , the market is very big and GDR gets its fair share .
