More interested in the opening price Monday morning. The amount of interest in this share will drive it onwards over the coming weeks. Hopefully a positive RNS at some point over the next couple of weeks will take us beyond £2. I'd be happy with that in the short term.
I got my crystal ball out earlier, along with my "special" calculator and I think £6 per share is achievable within 489 days.
As Rod Stewart once sung "I am sailing, stormy waters, to be free!". Or something like that.
Is it time for a beer yet? . . . .
The whole cruise sector is now completely focussed on getting back up and running from the beginning of next year. You would therefore expect the evolution of the new passenger experience to play out in front of us very soon. Add in the likely hood of the vaccine and we should expect this travel sector to see investors start to get in very soon whilst share prices are still supressed. I'm also a believer that investors have played so hard on the tech firms that they are looking for the next big growth area of the market - travel AND leisure have got to be somewhere nr the top of the list, with trials and new plans unfolding. Get through the next few weeks unscathed, and we may be in for better times in here.
I dont disagree with the sentiment, but I dont agree that its time to buy. I think we will see these markets worsen over the coming weeks. The majority of businesses that are floated will see their value worsen before it gets better. Therefore I wont be buying back in just yet. I do think however, that when this goes (probably off the vaccine news) it will be a steady climb back to £2 and upwards.
Cant believe I woke up this morning and the share price has gone from 11p to £1.40.
This is the best day of my life. I've resigned from my job this afternoon and put an order in on a new car.
Restaurants booked tonight and hoping to go somewhere sunny soon.
I'm not sure it will be "years", possibly a "year" though.
Turning down 33p is a very interesting sign IMO. If the board believe they can make Saga work and 33p is undervaluing the business, then why not hang around for the long term?
It would've been great to get a bounce off of the back of the consolidation, but let's face it 9 times out of 10 that doesn't happen. If your a short term trader on Saga, you'll be feeling pretty annoyed. If your like me and prepared to hold on for 12 months+ its a no brainer of a share. I'm not advocating this being at £20 a share at any point, but you could make a strong case for recovery to be at £3.00 + by mid 2021. Lets face it, life will never quite be the same again but once the Vaccine is in place and travel starts to evolve Saga are in a strong position. If you want comparisons of travel providers that have gone bust, you can find them littered all over the place. The fact that Saga have a spread of interest is a positive, along with the recent re-instatement of the Chairman. Its therefore a hold for me ATM. GLA.
I'm not qualified to give any advice, but I would re-iterate some of the the feelings on this chat over the past few weeks. Saga has and underpinned business with its insurance services and fundamentally is a solid investment. If there is truth in vaccines being distributed by the early part of the new year or before, we have a winter to endure before we see the likes of Saga, Carnival and "other" operators recover in any real shape or from. In the meantime, we do have the risk of the new chairman wanting to raise more funds, but hes no fool and will recognise the recovery model and upside in 2021. Let's face it, if we don't see a vaccine and an exit from covid restriction in 2021, there will be many many operators finished anyway. 12p IMO is a long term gem, but I do expect some pain short term. I will be turning off my share account until April 2021. In it for the long term.
Its a good sign and very interesting announcement. Having watched this space for a while now, I've invested for a long term return, hoping that their business model is as interesting as it looks on paper. The spread is not favourable for investors looking for a short term return, so I guess its about attracting the investment companies that see a long term future in this business.
