The legislation to fit seatbelts in cars happened a long time before the legislation to wear seatbelts. Think it was about 15 years in the UK.

However the legislation to fit DMS to cars (certainly in Europe) starts in about a year.
From SEE's point of view the legislation to fit is the important bit.

Moreover, there are a variety of other safety rating boards available around the world as well, such as the JNCAP in Japan and the Latin NCAP in South America, and the US’ Department of Transportation will establish new DMS performance standards via the SAFE Act (“Stay Aware For Everyone”) starting in 2024.
There is also ANCAP which is the Australasian new car assessment programme, which folllows ENcap to the letter, same timescales etc.

DMS will become ubiquitous...

Think Martin said they realised they needed finance just after summer so prob Sept. As you say maybe they thought some of the very big contracts were still up for grabs and waited to see what would happen. Either way they have left it very late and management will spend the next two months on making sure the raise goes as smoothly as it can. Hopefully they get sorted.

Of the four OEMs two are new customers; one is an American high-volume car maker and one is a European premium manufacturer, and two are existing European premium customers. The estimated combined life-time value of the four contracts is at least 500 MSEK.

4 oem customers, 2 new and 2 existing signed on the same day. Whats the chances Coldfish?

Coldfish, what auto wins did SEE announce?

Oddly Martin was asked about the release of the wins the day before the funraising debacle (TFD).
He said they do not hold information back and the win just happened to be signed the day before..... Believe it or not. Then more 'wins' 2 days after.... Believe it or not.

I was told that SEE will be at CES with several partners. Well we know Magna and Qualcomm will be there in force, but wonder if BMW will want Dr Mike to present again at their main stand? Fully expect QC to announce more big OEM tie ups so it'll be an interesting event. Smarteye are attending and have their own booth - I did ask the question at their recent unfortunate event and they had already paid for the stand last year so they would have lost the money anyway so obliged to go. Still going to cost them something in such a tight position they are in.

The full terms of their fundraise are yet to be announced - like how much the discounted share price offer will be.

Martin was asked about the SEE Magna deal - wouldn't answer directly but said "the fundraise we are doing is the best one for Smarteye" .

Just goes to show what a fantastic deal Paul did with Magna - remarkable really in the current climate. Shows you how much Magna expect to sell (VW is already in the bag last Nov) and of course SEE are the reason Magna will sell a lot - and SEE will make a lot of money from the deal. Of course DYOR

Was an inspired move to restrict the areas of that CAT dealt with.
CAT obviously wanted mining to include on road and support. SEE took back oil and and in particular oil has worked well so far.

Of course its not just the heavy mining equipment involved as the new contract signed with CAT states. ...
Guardian 2 and DSS enable customers to cost effectively fit any vehicle in the fleet – heavy equipment, support vehicles and highway vehicles.

So it includes support vehicles and highway vehicles.... Could be a lot bigger than some think.

Was talking to a junior partner in an II company. Told him of the deal that SEE did with Magna.
He was astounded in todays market with the finance agreement. In particular how SEE got $17.5m and then the loan agreement baffles him. How Paul negotiated this in todays economic climate suggested that Magna wanted this deal and were happy to agree. DYOR of course

Paul said b/e in the year of 24. From London meet Q&A, It wasnt clear if he meant FY or CY.
So i guess the range could be from Jul 2023 to Dec 2024.
H1 FY 24 to H1 FY 25 inc. I think thats right?
Of course some sort of decent license deal could disrupt those dates.

Suspect of the original 6, the T1 knows they've won it, in process of signing of or signed with the OEM. Then the T1 and SEE sign contracts, then we are told. These are the ones due now.
This side of xmas would be great, but do expect them to be big contracts.
