Tesla 'full self-driving' triggered 8-car crash on Bay Bridge, driver tells police.

SAN FRANCISCO -- A driver told authorities that their Tesla's "full-self-driving" software braked unexpectedly and triggered an eight-car pileup in the San Francisco Bay Area last month that led to nine people being treated for minor injuries including one juvenile who was hospitalized, according to a California Highway Patrol traffic crash report.

The pileup took place just hours after Tesla CEO Elon Musk had announced that Tesla's driver-assist software "full self-driving" was available to anyone in North America who requested it. Tesla had previously restricted access to drivers with high safety scores on its rating system.

"Full self-driving" is designed to keep up with traffic, steer in the lane and abide by traffic signals. It requires an attentive human driver prepared to take full control of the car at any moment. It's delighted some drivers but also alarmed others with its limitations. Drivers are warned by Tesla when they install "full self-driving" that it "may do the wrong thing at the worst time."

The report states that the Tesla Model S was traveling at about 55 mph and shifted into the far left-hand lane, but then braked abruptly, slowing the car to about 20 mph. That led to a chain reaction that ultimately involved eight vehicles to crash, all of which had been traveling at typical highway speeds.

I think currently its what package the T1 price the whole system at (and maybe even do deals if they're providing other parts).

I dont believe now its a straight run off between T2's. The T1 is such a pricing key.
Either way 50% of the market is an amazing amount. So we hopefully win 50% over time and others win the rest.

But we don't bid on everything and the panic that some people felt when Seye announced is strange.

Smart Eye is about to raise cSEK325m in a fully covered preferential rights issue before deductions for transaction costs, but the full terms are not yet available, such as the subscription price. Thus, the near-term share price movement could be important for the ultimate dilution rate.

We raise our subscription price estimate for the rights issue in the base case from SEK30 to SEK35, translating into an approximate discount to today's share price level of about SEK50 of 30%. As the full terms are not yet disclosed, we want to underline that these estimates are only hypothetical and that they will change as soon as the real subscription price is set around January 24. The subscription price of the rights issue will be priced at a customary discount to the theoretical ex-rights price (TERP), which we thus interpret as 30% at the moment.

Re Tier 1's
Paul said we were dealing with about 12 in the beginning as there were no clear leaders. We've narrowed that down. There may come a time when we only deal with 3, or 4, or 2. As leaders emerge which is happening right now. And the leaders are not the original ones.

Veoneer had a demo of SEE DMS at the ISETC last month as part of their "product portfolio".

I also had assumed that DMS had gone with Arriver to QC, however it appears that Veoneer are /were still selling and promoting SEE. So i guess technically Magna can sell SEE in the mirror and everywhere else now.

Magna and SEE have i believe 3 wins so far. Of course the biggest being VW for A$125m. They of course will win more and SEE will be part of it.
I think we can all agree that Magna wanted the deal with Paul and were happy to A: give money away and B: finance SEE at superb rates to ensure it happened....

Just for comparison Redeye think the discount on raising capital for Seye will be 30%! Thats 30% discount, not above SP which is what Paul negotiated.

Actually read of another share on AIM where the SP was 10p and they had a finance fundraise discounted at 1p!.

Have to agree worth every penny. Paul was the man who negotiated the remarkable Magna deal.
$17.5m for free as were going to deal with Magna anyway.
Then the financing, well to get that amount at less than 2% a year and at almost double the SP! Remarkable as I said. Todays climate with regard to raising money is tough.

Lot of PI shares moved on yesterday and no doubt more today. And right now the Market will still take big volumes if you try a dummy sell...

Yeah S2020 what on earth was Paul thinking about taking $17.5m and having access to $47.5m at less than 2% per year.
How very dare he do such a deal....
