RE: Europe mixed premarket with data in focus26 Mar 2024 07:40
Consumer confidence in Germany is expected to increase in April and stand at negative 27.4, down from the previous revised figure, a joint report released by the market research institute GfK and the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions (NIM) showed on Tuesday.
The economic expectations indicator is forecast to increase by 3.3 points to negative 3.1. The income expectations indicator is expected to climb 3.3 points to negative 1.5.
"The recovery in the consumer climate is slow and very sluggish," NIM consumer expert, Rolf Burkl, commented. "Real income growth and a stable job market themselves provide good conditions for rapid improvement in consumer sentiment, but there’s still a lack of planning security and optimism about the future among consumers."
