This is becoming an embarrassingly desperate attempt to try and smear management here at every attempt, even when proven wrong. Now we've gone from 'no US investor bucket shop placing' to 'oh no, it is a US investor, but its not a strategic investor' which it doesn't even say in the RNS. A US institutional investor has provided cash to OptiBiotix at their own risk to support funding requirements. It really is that simple.

Here they are the Tom Winnifreth brigade after one of his podcasts has told them what to repeat... In actuality the company has raised £750k with one of the investors being a new US investor which is exactly what the RNS stated. The only other comment in the RNS about the investor is that they have invested in weight loss companies before.

Looks like we have a new US institutional investor on board from the latest placing, as communicated in the RNS. The Opti shareholder page says Alumni Capital have taken a 3.1% stake in the company with 3,200,000 shares.

So Opti didn’t ‘mislead investors’ as insinuated by Winifrith and his merry band of sheep. As I’ve said before, anyone taking any notice of that man needs a strong word with themselves.

Speaking to several people who have used the drugs they say that whilst it is good and you lose weight quickly a lot of the weight lost is muscle and you get a lot of side effects. As Fried says lots of people regain most of their weight after stopping after 12 months so your in an never ending cycle. They also said the effects of the drugs actually decrease the more you use it so have to up the dose and risk increased side effects. Its not a healthy solution to the obesity problem and whilst its good for people significantly obese to quickly reduce risk of other obese related health concerns its not a long term healthy solution. SlimBiome i think has some interesting potential as a natural aid which has increased following these drugs with the likes of Morepen and this unamed US top weight loss brand launching later this year so there's definitely a good opportunity there. SOH and co know the real values in the second generation and is one of the reasons they span out PBX & SBTX so they could focus on these but it appears this tech seems to be more difficult to develop/commercialise than they anticipated.

based on your own logic friedman everyone then had complete faith in soh and his projections when the sp rose from 14p to 20p.. on the back of an encouraging (growth) in sales for q1 2025 and the new launches in india and us..

Well other than the rumours from TW I have no reason not too but no one but the investor knows in truth. We saw the £500k trade go through at 14p. They wouldn’t be making much of a profit if they did offload as price already dropped on the RNS and volumes are too low to dump that volume quickly.

The TW brigade back at it again. TW must be right because…why exactly? You believe everything he says? As has already been discussed if the investor doesn’t want to disclose, more so being a US investor, they will have zero repercussion from UK regulators. Opti are not going to do it for them, especially if they don’t want their name out on this deal. Truth is no one knows for sure but why these posters go on every rumour and theory as if TW is talking fact is truly bizarre. If you think this company is rubbish & badly run just sell up and buy something TW tells you to buy.

Mol full agree PBX are still riding on the back of Opti SOH work in building the foundations. I watched the imc and they seem to have brought on some new big customers so things could start to accelerate. Winning new business and getting products to launch takes time to get up and running so this year will reveal if Steen can do a job there.

Friedman the other question you forget to ask is how much more money would Opti need to raise to build out a team and invest in growth for PBX under its own roof. It definitely wouldn’t save costs. Small business need fuel to grow. Doing it this way may see it grow faster and reach a greater valuation through acquisition and allow more focus to develop Optis own business & second gen products. Time will tell if this strategy was the right one, but I agree AQUIS was a mistake.

As for TR1 it would be great to see but it’s up to the investor to disclose. I’m sure Opti are not going to annnoy their new 3rd biggest investor by naming them if they don’t want to disclose because some bloke with a podcast demands it. The RNS would have been vetted word for word by the nomad so to believe TW over this sort of stuff blows my mind.

So PBX have reduced the allotment request from 30% to 10% dilution which gives them an incentive to get the price moving if they needed to raise a tangible amount so looks more fair if you ask me.

As for SOH there’s a lot of noise coming from TW which his followers are just eating up forgetting this is a man who swindled £100k from investors when he was last executive, suggested by a KPMG audit report. As far as I remember Rene was the last ceo here when SOH was over at PBX which saw a massive drop in sales. Since they’ve brought on bigger partners and are returning to what appears good growth in big markets.

I dont think they are establishing a manufacturing base.. they are leasing a warehousing facility to store stock and utilising the money to build stock. £750k would not be enough to set up their own manufacturing. The RNS also mentioned shipping times with customs and having to fill cargos etc so i read it as they will be just storing stock there which makes a lot of sense to service these new partners with shorter lead times. The manufacturing part doesn't read that clearly.

Interesting news. Good to see new institutional involved from US & seems a fairly reasonable deal…maybe could have asked for a better price but market isn’t great for raises right now.

PG, till recently they are only just talking about scaling production from what they had from laboratory. See recent RNS’s. SOH is only a liar if you remove his caveats which he does because science has hurdles, some of which can take a long while to overcome. SA recently said the same. In any case Opti have been getting a £100k annual royalty from a US partner for many years so you could argue it has been commercialised to an extent. I believe it will be the 4th or 5th payment from this partner this year so in terms of cash flow from IP Sweetbiotix is £4-500k ahead.

Toyin, If my memory serves me well you were party to the group who fiercely argued Axisbiotix would be 25k boxes or silly figures and anyone who disagreed was wrong. Again, how did that turn out? There was no way that was achievable.
