I’m not sure you can build timescale predictions on the last drill. I expect this time they ll be proceeding very carefully testing and logging as they go. No one wants any repeat of sidetracking or washouts, and on that basis it may take longer but the wealth of information and hopefully a discovery will make it well worth the wait.
Ultimately it’s Mitchell drillings reputation at stake as well. We will only go as deep and as fast as they feel they can comfortably achieve with the equipment they have available. Still a confirmed discovery even at shallower levels will be a great step forward and give a boost to exploration moving forwards.
Whist yesterday was horrible the great benefit of the first drill was what has been learnt from it. The temptation will be to proceed as quickly as possible possibly in the same location. Rather than a hurried review and plan I’d prefer a slight delay whilst everything is reviewed carefully. Much worse than a delay would be a repeat of this scenario. However this wasn’t a duster and neither was the outcome binary- on that basis the price drop seems exaggerated. We do appear to have drilling issues that need resolving but id much rather that than an absence of helium.
Clearly disappointing but always a possibility particularly on a first drill. Many lessons will have been learnt and the last thing I’d do is sell. Everyone knows there’s helium down there and hopefully they ll achieve better well stability now they understand the geology better.
Whilst the price would clearly drop substantially I’d be amazed if it dropped that low with other sites still to explore. I’d certainly be adding at that kind of price. Given the experience and knowledge gained with this well I’d remain confident of a significant commercial discovery in the following months. I’m sure some would sell but many others would buy on a large price drop at this point.
Although the video could have been made months ago it would seem very odd to publish now if there was anything but positive news incoming. Equally if an RNS was due imminently it would seem strange to release now. Hopefully this points to great news but not for a few days.
As someone who invested several months ago it was clear that this exploration would involve several sites over several months. I would never expect the CEO in the field literally getting his hands dirty whilst explaining the drilling process and we ve had various interviews whilst DM is actually on the site. As a modest investor I had limited expectations re communication until the TD had been reached. I’d much rather he focussed on the job at hand and safety rather than provide limited updates more frequently. This being the first of several it was always going to take longer and even if this doesn’t prove commercial I would remain confident of a commercial find in the coming months. I certainly wouldn’t panic sell.
Thanks Glib. I’ve been invested in helium one at 12p. I’m extremely positive about this share and genuine. My reason for posting was purely around when the next RNS will be and the possible reasons for delay. I invested here on the advice of a geologist and the reason I confused hydrogen with helium was that I’m also invested in a share that involves hydrogen. I’ve loved reading this board because of the posts of various posters whose opinions I really value. I don’t blame phantom 25 at all because if I were him and saw a post where I confused helium and hydrogen I’d probably have thought similar. Let’s hope for great news on Monday or whenever and hope for the best
When an RNS was last released nearly 3 weeks ago it contained important geological information that although positive appeared to be misinterpreted and as such led to a temporary share decrease which probably was surprising to many. We know that the levels of hydrogen are being constantly monitored and in the absence of further formal updates we have had a series of positive feeling photos and videos. If the hydrogen levels were disappointing it would be a surprise if the informal updates were so frequent and positive. I suspect that there would have been opportunities to provide further RNS but given the reaction to the last one David is waiting until it is really necessary at which time the RNS will be much more substantive and informative than expected at this point. For what it’s worth I’m expecting the update on Monday.
