The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Whilst PIF s involvement isn’t a panacea for all Aston Martin s ills they re not idiots. I suspect they will have done their due diligence and as part of that will be fully aware of the Nebula court case. It would seem they haven’t been unduly concerned. I don’t expect they had to Email investor relations to find out what the latest is. I suppose they will have been walked through the current financial situation in quite some detail and I guess that even if the Q2 figures are a disappointment this won’t be a surprise either. They might even be privy to strolls longer term plans and apparently quite liked them otherwise I doubt they would have had nothing to do with the company.
News from the garden. I just spoke to my postman who is a massive Newcastle United fan. He s very excited about next season because Newcastle are being linked with high calibration players following significant investment in players last season. He even thinks they might make the champions league. Of course none of this would be possible without Amanda Stavely and PIF who have proved so far to be excellent owners.
I’m surprised the share priced has significantly increased but I expect there were many that were getting increasingly anxious about the short term liquidity issues caused largely by high inflation and generally poor economic conditions. With PIF the short to medium term risks have been largely resolved which presumably will stop some of the speculation and let them focus on the longer term plan.
I would have a nice cup of coffee and watch some feel good tv rather than ask someone on this board whether they re invested. It’s like watching game of thrones over and over again and hoping for a different ending.
For a car that apparently “sounds” awful and a team in self destruct mode going in reverse it was a reasonable effort today. The same issues with tyre pressure/temperature led to another disappointing qualification which puts the team on the back foot on race day. It must be frustrating for the drivers. Another good drive from vettel. That said for lance stroll to finish ahead of a mclaren an alpha tauri and a Williams suggests the car is reasonable at this point given his limitations.
I’m not sure you can compare the timescales in regard of the rig to last year- last year the majority of the 3 months after contracting the rig was transporting it to Tanzania which was problematic. The advantage if they have located a rig near to site is that there will be a very limited transportation period.
News from my front room. The Aston has new kit and a sponsor for this weekend- Boss as well as a new floor and a rear beam and break ducts. At least 3 of the team were smiling and Lawrence has arrived in his helicopter.
Well I’ve been pruning my roses and here in the garden there are some rumours that vettel is both surprised and pleased at the improvement shown by the team. I also had a breakfast meeting with my neighbour who reckons Toto Wolff wasn’t being jones about the porpoising issues being experienced and that pato o’ward had been approached to drive for Aston next year.
It’s true that he stated in February that AML didn’t need more money but in fairness there had been a war and a dramatic spike in inflation since which has exacerbated the situation. This is hardly unique to AML lots of companies are having similar liquidity issues. I’m not sure stroll can be blamed for reacting acting to a worsening economic situation he d be mad not to.
I suspect your going to receive some serious copy and paste retaliation for this post. “Internal rumours” and DBX not to mention “sales improvement” is guaranteed to make certain posters very grumpy. Unless it’s internal rumours about Tobias Moers launching a verbal assault on poor old stroll or Aston martin losing a court case you ll need to provide sources I’d have thought or you ll be for the high jump.
It wasn’t a disastrous race it was a disastrous qualification. Vettel wasn’t very angry about the car he was very angry that the tyres were the wrong temperature during qualification. During the actual race the car showed good pace. The car was dreadful earlier in the season but it’s much improved at this point where the limitation won’t be the car itself but rather strolls s lack driving talent
I can’t see a significant or sustained rebound until the general economic situation improves which is some way off. It will be a difficult few months for companies with significant debt. I’m still optimistic in the longer term.
I really don’t think any poster on here is going to affect investor sentiment to any material degree. There are posters about who enjoy winding other posters up but frankly the last thing I’d do if I was fed up of hearing from someone is to repeatedly mention or insult them. It may well be that the views expressed are wholly negative and repetitive but it is an opinion nonetheless and if you don’t like hearing them I’d filter rather than insult.
Thank goodness people are in a Better mood this morning. If this was yesterday we d have all been hiding behind the settee. You mentioned the DBX. That is like red rag to a bull. You were better off with Mother Theresa.
“Fear is the most contagious disease you can imagine.it makes the virus look like a piker” anyone invested should have been aware of the risks when they invested. It’s great that people have highlighted risks but a lot of what is discussed on here such as invasions and depressions is speculative and intended to induce fear.
