My personal view is that Newcrest will table a bid for the final 30% of the license and continue a first refusal for JV on other GGP projects such as Scally ...

That is my opinion too .. it makes sense on all counts for both companies ! Though I wouldn’t complain if GGP held on to 25% of Hav.

Ok let’s say 30m Oz .. GGP share 30% = 9m Oz Now because Telfer is in existence and close then ..gold recovery and processing will be cheaper which should add a premium on to in the ground price .. let’s say $350 per Oz So $9m x $350 = $3.15bn .. that equates to roughly 75p per share . Now that is what I would call a fair price ..

Newcrest do not own 70% of Haverion... yet !

Bronze .. why does everyone think that because Newcrest did a drawdown in cash that they are going to buy Hav. or GGP for $1.4bn . At anywhere between 25m snd 35m Oz in the ground Hav. And GGP are worth a lot more than that and Gervais knows that !

Tom ., your figures are way out .. 30% of 25m is 7.5m
30% of 35m is 10.5m take the lowest @ $250 in the ground price that equates to $1.87bn. .. highest is $2.62bn

Trucky why would GGP need $2bn for Hav .. to get to mining if $2bn Is GGP share then $10bn to develop a mine is crazy . I don’t think getting this mine into production will cost anywhere near that ! A fair price for the 5% would cover the costs for GGP share until production is what I think GGP will do . Makes sense and they already have funds to start drilling in Scally !

Also the 5% would probably cover the GGP part of the mining costs up to production. Then it’s follow the yellow brick road !

Schlemiel .. it could be that the carrot for Newcrest is first option on farm in on the other sites GGP have in Paterson, so GGP keep their 25% of Hav and Newcrest get a percentage of future finds as a farm in agreement again. All close or closer to Telfer .. makes sense to me.

John . GGP price is not just about Havieron or gold .. remember the copper too !

Jambo .. I think the 5% will be sold to fund exploration drilling on the other potential sites in Paterson then more Jv’s .. either with Newcrest (depending on how they treat GGP on Hav.) or with other partners, either way I don’t see GGP selling out their remaining 25%

All this is speculation, Newcrest at the moment only have 40% of Hav .. agreement in place or not they are not going to try and buy the other 60% whilst they can get to 70% for minimal cost. Plus give them a better insight as to what’s down there. As I said before, GGP on video are implying they want to take this to production still holding their 25% .. if the figures are as those being bandied about or higher, it would be sheer stupidity for GGP to sell out the 25% when it will be worth billions !

schlemiel.. I can see where you are coming from but, GGP could use the carrot of further joint ventures in Paterson if they get to keep 25% of Hav. That could be worth a lot more to Newcrest in the long run !
