It's interesting that nobody has been commenting here for the past 10 days. At the same time, there have been a flurry of micro trades (5-10 shares usually) today.

Bearing in mind the estimated NAV of 107 per share in the last annual report, the SP being less than half that amount, the company's improving profitability and the fact that pub / bars can be takeover targets (Loungers plc last December 2024 IIRC), I can't help but wonder if there are efforts at not attracting attention to this company with a view to a takeover very very soon...

3 things to bear in mind:

- The SP rose enormously over the past 3-4 months, a retracement sounds probable.

- Linked to the above, the good interim / trading results mean that good yearly results are likely priced in already.

- therefore, what the market will look at next is the forecasts - which might not be super positive bearing in mind the bad UK retail figures published today.

People are putting words that aren't in the RNS, and funnily enough all of them avoid the very clear point I made in my last post. So I'll repeat in case some didn't read my whole message: If it were money in the bank for Ocado, and not a loan that they have to pay back, they'd have made it very clear.

They haven't, which strongly suggests this is money that Ocado is borrowing, it is probably not unencumbered cash.

Folks, this RNS is (deliberately?) very ambiguously worded. If it were a payment to Ocado, they would have definitely made that clear, considering the large amount. The fact they wrote this RNS in contradictory pseudo technical language only means that Ocado is effectively borrowing money under a loan facility arranged by Kroger.

Proof please?

Fogthemogg - so if your bigger neighbour came over to your home, had his way on your wife and/or daughter, maybe maimed one of your kids and killed your pets, grabbed 20% of your home (the part with windows / access to the main road), destroyed half of your furniture and electrical equipment, that would be OK if they kept that land and be left unpunished so long as they stopped the assault, with no formal guarantees they won't do it again in the future?

Hi all. Did the NAV last reported (at 90p per share approx IIRC?) include the then 40% share in Carlsberg Marstons Brewery, or only the Marston's pub business?

High volume today, clear green candle, each lower-time-frame simple moving averages is crossing over the next higher-time-frame one in succession, approximate consolidation pattern since 14 June 2024.

And obviously, we expect an update on the mortgage book sale at any time, while the share has largely been derisked thanks to the bailout.

What's not to love?

Dibs61 - this is not a golden cross. The golden cross is when the 50 simple moving average crosses the 200 SMA (on a daily chart).

However, golden cross or not, there are other technical (i.e. charts) indicators suggesting the probable return to a bullish trend.
