The dividend wasn’t cancelled because the SP was £1, or that they couldn’t afford it, it was cancelled because the business believes given current geopolitical activity it would be wrong to to, and I welcome that decision.

If ‘we’ means U.K. then you are wrong as it was a US plane that released the bombs that hit the intended target, but flak caused damage to the hospital, and the hospital had already been largely evacuated.

Contrast to the deliberate targeting and direct bombing of the hospital in Ukraine, that was full and operational, and all the other civilian targets being bombed and we have chalk and cheese, hence Putin has been reported for war crimes by 38 countries.

What is going on in Ukraine is unbelievable and global priority is for peace and safety of citizens in Ukraine.

Hashtag, the current cash balance is equal to bout 1.5 times current mcap, add on our asset value and you start to realise how massively undervalued the SP is right now.

Cannot say for certain what will happen with SP movement, but fundamentals and financials say it’s only going one way.

The current SP is an unbelievable gift without the dividend, and as can be evidenced by current trading in the US the dividend cancellation makes no difference to the upward movement of SP value.

This will keep rising until it’s back to the value pre-war.

Dividends will return at some point as that is the company philosophy in rewarding shareholders.

A spot on the FTSE 100 will be reclaimed.

This is a top notch global business, available as a gift, but not forever.

I am just watching the news showing a maternity hospital full of new borns just been bombed, and you want to be angry and encourage others to be just because the business has made the right call in cancelling the dividend.

Seriously you need a very serious word with yourself and get a perspective on what’s important. Clever thoughts you most definitely do not have.

The RNS at the start of the day has more value to restoring confidence and value. The SP will continue to rerate back to true value, and that’s key to investing right now. The dividends will come on the future.

Only people disappointed will be those that wanted the divi and would probably sell tomorrow anyway, so they are selling today instead. Just shows how some people do not know this business and where the SP will go in due course.

There is normally 2 to 4 dividends a year, hopefully once normality starts to return, there will be some very decent divis paid out.

Perhaps the board will be more peaceful now :-)

AJ Bell analysis forecasted EVR to have the highest dividend yield in 2022, and that was before the price dropped.
Amazing investment value on offer here right now, but only to those that view as a long term hold.

It won’t drop to 37p. In normal times the SP is marked down by the value of the dividend, but these are not normal times and whatever the close in the U.K., the US market will still be open and will impact our open price on Thursday.
