The code is highest paid by the person who reaches over 30% holding, so Toffers you are right he may want to hang on.
The other factors are that this is moving quickly. First Seagull buying 5% may be a curve ball to JD. Also the talk now of another 2 suitors.
JD now has to move relatively quickly. He could buy up the shareholding relatively easily I would have thought but it’s the capital required to restructure and take the business forward that needs to be secure.
It’s a fast moving scenario.
Expect action from 1st bell on Monday.
My god I would not want to be short.
GLA
Manifesto, do a little more research before making generalised statements.
Of course there is risk, but understand what is going on in the background, look at the substantial media coverage, look at JD’s journey with this company, as well as difficulties he had in his personal life, as well as getting himself back on the board. Look at recent investments that have been made by institution, cost savings plans that are on going. Look at who is interested in a takeover and look at JD himself seeking to take the business private by buying up the shares.
Then maybe come back and give some valuable input.
That said, I m sure you have turned up as you see an opportunity to make some money, or maybe you were too late.
The buy signal for me was the RNS Wednesday, now swelled by media reports and RNS on Friday.
Monday will be a very interesting day, as will the days following.
And of course, a potential outcome is no deal.

Musk,
Nothing is easy with this one. Nothing.
If JD increases his holding to 30% there won’t be a bidding war, that’s the point, but can he raise the finance. What this does is increase the stakes for any interested party to act quickly and make a decent offer.
Interesting battle as to what moves are made.
Monday will be very interesting indeed.
Musk, if JD goes over 30% holding the offer will be around 80p.
The only speculation there is whether JD buys shares to take him to compulsory purchase.
That is where the 80p comes from being the highest price he paid in the last 12 months.
He wants to take it private, that is what he is trying to finance.
Hope that helps.
There is a very good chance that results will be positive, very good.
The longer it take to announce something, the more confident I am personally that results will be positive.
But, keeping feet on ground and chilling and I am relaxed as already taken substantial profit.
What I do wish is for all LtH’s that have stuck with their investment, some severely under water, and I really hope for you that this proves successful and you gain a positive return on your investment.
Good luck to all, but especially to the LTH’s, you deserve success.
He only sold part of his holding to fund his divorce settlement.
This is his baby, and he most definitely wants it back.
I anticipate the SP will rise towards a compulsory offer price, with JD achieving 30% plus holding.
So much media coverage at the moment too.
Looking forward to Monday.
He wants it back and is arranging finance.
Once he is over 30% the compulsory purchase will be made, and the price is set at what he paid in May 2023, 82p I believe.
So 80-82p is where the SP is going Monday/Tuesday
Good luck

Was it 76p..? Thought it was a little higher.
But if JD bought more shares to take him to 30% he would have to make an offer at the highest price he paid in the last 12 months, so that would be the price.
It really looks like JD wants it back under his ownership. will be interesting come Monday/Tuesday, maybe a TR1, but the SP is going higher.

Toffees, from the RNS:
Julian Dunkerton has since confirmed to the Transaction Committee that he is engaged in discussions with potential financing partners (“Potential Sponsors”) for the purposes of considering options in respect of the Company, which may include a possible cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company, not already owned by him. These discussions are at a preliminary stage and no decisions have been made
