RE: Baron Investments long term target for OMI £220 Jan 2026 15:00
I think the Pepas MRE will be a 'watershed moment' for OMI's valuation and share price. A ridiculously low CAPEX and AISC, against a rising gold price is a phenomenal and unrivalled situation for ANY junior to find itself in. Pepas is literally screaming out for production and is a no brainer. But the MRE is needed to underpin this.
You THEN have to look at the ridiculous upside potential, from one or more of the following actual or high probability events:
1) Pepas itself containing over $1 billion worth of gold.
2) Finding more Pepas's and/or the source - arguably a high probability event given the geology and the $15 million to drill surrounding areas.
3) The existing discovery at APTA going to MRE - an actual event and estimated to be at least 2moz.
4) The probability of making a huge discovery at El P - arguably a high probabiltiy event given the geology, early signs, and $15 million.
5) The probability of making huge discoveries at El Cedro and LV - greenfield projects but the geology is very favourable.
6) Getting into the GDXJ - a very high probability event the way things are going. Maybe as early as March 2026.
At the moment, our valuation doesn't reflect ANY of the above. So, we should get an uplift on the Pepas MRE (though not the same as when we near production). But from there, we only need ONE of the remaining events to happen to start another move up.
I believe the likes of Sprott, Dynamic, Durrett and the other instis, and investors like Baron, are seeing and buying for this bigger picture - and that's where their "20-50 bagger" or "£2 in 2026" projections are coming from.
That MRE will only solidy this and it will be game on for such a move from that point onwards. All imho but let's see! Will be one heck of ride for sure - and a very rewarding one.
