Just checked the usd/chf 30 min chart. I have done Faraday an injustice. Their stop loss was not hit but price did come very close botomming at 51 against the stop loss of 40. Please see chart below where I have identified possible trades during the whole time of their trade using SB's trading style. It is not deadly accurate as working off the 30 min chart whereas lower time frames would have been used. One would probably have entered immediately at the time of the text at 10100 at 1.45 and closed '2.10 @ 10130 for 30 pips gain on ground that price was too far ahead of T line and profit taking had set in crossing the 3 ema on a lower time frame. Things then got choppy. if one was sucked in and out on lower time frames one may have made some small gains and losses assumed to break even. Personally I would have stayed out as the market either retraces substantially after such a big rise or gets choppy. Price then closed below the Tline @ 6pm so one could have gone short @ 10100 and taken profits @ or around 10060 some time between 6 and 6.30 on grounds that price had gone too far ahead of the T line and profit taking had set in for another 40 pips profit. If one was trading between the end of day and early this morning a small losing trade may have been taken buying at 86 and selling at 71 loss 15 pips and again between 6 and 8,30 this morning buying at 92 and selling at 86 for 6 pips loss. After that it was all rosy buying at 10 am this morning at 10106 and selling at 10151 for a 46 pip profit. Excluding trading during the night which produced 2 losing trades of 21 pips the 3 winning trades during normal daytime hours would have produced a total pip gain of 116 pips as opposed to Faraday's trade of buy and hold of 51 pips. This illustrates the folly of buy and hold when it comes to investing. Most investors invest in a share and hold on and ride the peaks and troughs. This imo is a dead strategy. The price of the majority of shares if not all shares, fluctuates all the time. Even such winners as Dell, Texus, Amaxon, Netflix, Apple. Buy and hold investors in these shares at the beginning have made small fortunes but if they had gone short and long on each peak and trough then would have made even more so buy and hold is a dead dodo imo. Just got back from a hospital appointment and FARADAY have text take profits usd/chf @ 1.0151. I must have had a really bad day yesterday as I am sure their stop loss got hit. will have to double check. Missed the ftse recovery today as at hospital all day, just my luck. good luck investing/trading always.

Here's a 10 minute chart of today's usd/chf chart to see what happened. See the big green candle at 1.30. They jumped on the band wagon and one could have made a respectable 30 odd pips. It all turned sour after that and price only declined. See my trade between 5 and 5.30 small green short lived candle so I was lucky or thought I was except for my silly schoolboy errors. This really isn't my day. You know that £890 profit within minutes. Well take a look at this subsequent chart. I could cry. Forgot the stop loss AGAIN and look what has happened. AND to crown it all put in a sell order AND again FORGOT to tick the force open box and closed the trade instead of opening a separate trade. http://content.screencast.com/users/LEFKOSIA/folders/Default/media/71b49fd4-0def-4967-a3c0-32c7ab63140c/usd chf 2chart.png I posted advice to a rookie trader never to trade forex unless one is calm and relaxed, feeling good within oneself and no distractions. Never trade as I have done. It only backfires and I never learn. Indiscipline and not sticking to my rules. Probably won't post so much for a while as will have to finish self assessments and trade without distractions to recover the 2 big losses that should never have happened. Will still post Faraday's texts however. Another complaint about them apart from their stop loss. They seem to jump on the train after it has left the station sometimes and get the timing wrong. Also apart from their bog standard 60 pips stop loss they never give s stop profit limit but always seem to send take profits texts when 50 to 60 pips are made. Forex is not like that. Take a look at the chart. See how price fluctuates during the day. Soon after their text at 1.39 price continued to rise but then it fell back. I was lucky at 17.28 to be making £890 within minutes but it was short lived and price fell away and then went through their stop loss turning it into a losing trade. The only way to trade forex is to day trade it imo with constantly monitoring price movement. Open to correction and an alternative view or strategy. Good luck investing trading.

Look at that big red candle. Market can move really quickly. Must have stop losses in place preferably guaranteed if not glued to the screen otherwise you may lose your shirt. Have caught a cold on the failed faraday text from yesterday. LOST £2,600 BY FORGETTING TO PLACE STOPS on a variety of small bets only amounting to £13 in total. Not my usual £100 if I was day trading thank god.The damn thing did not sell off as they thought. I was sceptical that one should continue to sell after it had already had a substantial drop just as in the case of their previous loser, so I did a series of small bets of £3 and 2 a time as I would not be day trading. In fact it went the other way and today big time. 200 pips. Horrified to see such a loss when I had a look this afternoon. panic reacted and closed the lot. Pity Faraday DID NOT SAY BUY INSTEAD OF SELL. Good job it was not a 100 bet otherwise it may have been a 20k loss if it was forced to close by ig. Anyway word of advice never trade in panic. As the share kept on rising and rising as I watched the screen and saw the loss increasing I put in a buy for the 13 to stop the rot and to try and recover the situation BUT forgot also to tick the force open box to enable a separate buy trade to open and of course all the sells got closed off to my horror. I will post later on how to take advantage of the ups and downs of forex charts so that one may never lose money when day trading or keep it to a minimum and to double up profits even if one did a silly thing such as not putting stops in but I have to calm down first as I hate losing money and am absolutely furious with myself for making two elementary errors . Yes SCOTLOUIE but only for £10 a pip this time usually it is £100 a pip but I'm working today so can't monitor forex. Don't like trading forex unless I'm glued to the screen. They have a pretty good record but do have losers as well. KIBO This was drawn to my attention by a poster's comment 'KIBO smashed it' See chart below. Apart from the big spike in last 2014 from 2 to 10 there hvebeen a couple of mini spikes in between. It has traded in the range 4 to 6 for most of 2015. Opportunities to range trade it from 4 ish to 6 ish would appear to be available until it stops trading sideways. Notice how sensible it was to sell at 10 when pice had got too far ahead of the T line. The same could be said for the mini pikes. SB knows what he is talking about.
