RE: Horse racing Tips17 Aug 2016 11:54
Still not doing the gee gees for the time being but received this from the gee gees GLA
I'm under strict instructions not to work more than an hour today, as it's the first
day of my (somewhat enforced) family holiday.
You'd think two weeks on the shores of the beautiful Lake Garda would be very
welcome, but I'm dreading it. The second week at any rate. I'll be climbing the
walls by then, no doubt...
Anyway, enough of my faux woes (I do know I'm a very lucky boy), and on with
the show.
It's York today and, while I haven't had a chance to look in great detail, I will be
framing a 'hope trumps expectation' placepot around these horses:
1.55 Bowson Fred. Wily trainer books top jockey for well drawn five furlong
specialist who loves big fields.
2.30 Lockheed. Expensive purchase won well at Goodwood and represents a
Yorkshire trainer exiled in Newmarket targets this meetings annually (Willie
Haggas). Jolly will be tough to beat, mind.
3.05 Across The Stars. Progressive type for trainer who excels with progressive
types. By Sea The Stars, whose strike rate is an amazing 20%+ and almost 25%
with 3yo's.
3.40 Fast ground a niggle for Postponed, who is short enough in a deep field.
The Grey Gatsby looks likely to run well, but at bigger prices I'm interested in
Mutakayyef, another Sea The Stars son trained by Haggas. Step up in trip ought
to suit. I'm also drawn to Exosphere, who I'm convinced is better than he's
shown so far. At 40/1 he's worth a penny each way. Brilliant, brilliant race.
4.20 Oceane should go close. Ground, grade, distance, field size all fit; trainer
in only fair form, but well drawn if timing his run right.
4.55 Ten deep in this impossible nursery. Wick Powell scores very well on the
Trainer Handicap 2nd Start Trainer Snippet, and Kamra ditto for H'cap 1st Start.
Finding those took about 12 minutes this morning, five of which were 'lavished'
on the big race. That's Geegeez Gold for you - bundles of information, easily
absorbed.
Talking of which, we now have all of the Trainer Snippets live, so no more
grey boxes. I'll keep the content in beta for the next couple of weeks, but I'm
obviously happy enough to share this publicly, so enjoy!
Good luck,
Matt
