Good morning AIMEXPERTRADER. Can't find KDO Can you name it? 88E big drop on news. I'm no expert on oil but looks neutral hence drop. Reset stop loss to 2.4 yesterday so still in, just. Loss £7.6k at the moment so breaking even overall. lack of discipline and greed took me back in on gamble on news. Should have taken more notice of the gaps. Could be opportunity to buy if not in as lower time frames 4 to 1 hour show price hovering around 2.6 support at present. GOT to watch the 2 ema's. GLITA

AIMEXPERTRADER. Glad you can see how useful a tool it can be but one should also use the 3ema to get one in and out a little earlier at the end of a trend or when price has raced too far ahead of the T line. Although I stress the T line it should be remembered it is best used at the END of a trend AFTER a candlestick reversal pattern and to keep one in a trend. In the case of AIM shares where one cannot short them, it keeps one from buying, topping up or averaging down but for ftse shares, forex and indice great to ride both ups and downs, so good for day trading. Pity the bozos on the 88e board who have given me such a hard time still bury their heads in the sand. One can lead an ass to water but can't make it drink. Their loss. GLITA

Friday's usa non farm payrolls straddle trade. These straddles are like plucking low hanging fruit. I used to get burned trying to trade the non farm payrolls in the past but not since using the straddle, which I began testing in March. See earlier posts for the results of my demo trades. Started first live straddle trade in June on ftse and on brexit using a straddle dipping a toe at £1 a pip in June which was very good. GLITA

Good evening scotlouie. England leave it to the last minute but a win nevertheless. Valid point. At that level margins are tiered. There were 3 separate £3k bets making total bet size £9k which I based the baggers on which is misleading. The risk reward on the long trade was 3/1 so a 3 bagger. Can't remember how much the margin was as things were a bit frantic to get the bets on but the client's fund amounts to millions so no problem. Also, I find the margins do tend to change substantially from time to time. For instance I had various forex trades open prior to brexit but margins increased substantially and had to inject quite substantial additional funds to cover the open positions until the brexit panic subsided. Also my 1st £9k spread bet in total on 88e only required a margin deposit of just under £5k, but my current £9k bet in total required more but can't remember the amount only that it was much more than £5k. A lot depends on stop losses as well. GLITA

On Friday I missed the first part of a cracking long trade on the ftse but got a crock of gold trade with most of the second part that only happens once in a while. I missed the first part because I was trading my straddle strategy on the usa non farm payrolls with the EUR/USD for myself which did pretty well too. No doubt the long bull run was the result of the content of the non farm payrolls report as the move started exactly at 13.30. Have not had time or even bothered to check the content but this confirms that the underlying fundas do not matter, it is investor sentiment/reaction to the fundas that matters. Sadly the trade was not made with my money but with money from a client's trust fund set up for his daughter who is disabled to take care of her needs for when he and his wife pass on. However I get a cut of the profit which I am happy with. However it is NEVER wrong to crystalise a profit. It is wrong to leave too much on the table and to let losses run when profit retraces imo. Notice the candlesticks reversal pattern at the top of the trend plus close below 3ema early warning sign, close below T line all corresponding with the end of the London session with traders all cashing in paper profit before the weekend. That's £350k a 39 bagger with a £9k bet stake. If Tline rule of staying in the trade as long as price closed above T line or 3ema if too far ahead of T line had been kept to, it would have been £600k a 66 bagger in 35 MINUTES. Beats hanging around for 1 to 2 years on a speculative share like 88e with no guarantee that the crock of gold would be achieved. There sure is truth in the saying money makes money. WARNING. You asked why did I re-enter at 3.4. Here are the reasons; 1- Price closed above T line on lower time frames than 1 hour; 2 -Current bear trend may only be a retracement with possible J hook in early stages of forming; 3 -Imminent news expected which could have good/bad/neutral affect on price so a GAMBLE although expectations are neutral as the biggies are yet to come in November according to the fundas' supporters 4 - Greed and indiscipline. Yes I am currently showing a loss but I already have locked in profit of £8k in the bank £7.2k plus £0.8k, should have been 11.5k. if I had obeyed the T line rules to the letter. The rationale behind the earlier selling at 3.4 was bull trend ended, close below 3ema, price too far ahead of T line, gap up and gap down news not in could be bad, price may continue to fall to next level of support. All you do is add 1 to the odds of each leg, multiply together and take one off So 5-1, 4-1, evens is (6 x 5 x 2) - 1 or 59 to 1 30 grand x 59/1 plus the stake back is of course 30 grand x 60 = £1.8m

Hope some of you dipped a toe in the non farm payrolls today . Was really good mostly over after about 30 mins i think. I closed off early taking 2 profits and 1 small loss as I have to finish a boring accountancy job. For the patient one would have got 100pips profit plus some more as it has just crashed south. will post in more detail later glita.

jaffy re best free charts see below glita i use IG spread betting charts. you need to register for a demo but after a couple of weeks all the shares disappear so you have to open a live account again no cost and you don't have to spread bet to use the charts.
