Increase working people’s wages, results in increasing their tax payment.

Crippling the workers economy and businesses giving say a 20 year old worker that’s still learning their trade, similar wage structure to say a 40 / 50 year old.

So naturally the more mature workers will ask for pay rises to make the pay gap more reasonable between a younger workers vs experienced workers salary, which will obviously result in inflation.

All because they need an increased tax intake from working people. Insanity Economics

PFC & TLW has been my downfall........

All other gains are great when you win 20 or 30%, but when you get wiped out 100% in others, well, Bullrun or not, it matters not a jot !

Very apt that it changed it's Ticker to DEBS, to be so familiar with Debenham's which also wrote off Investors hard earned money ( Me included ), what, 6 years ago now ?

UK is a basket case for Investing and after years of previous frustration, I kept risking my money on poorly run business in the UK.

RR want's more UK Investment, well the UK must change to become more stable and have better run businesses for that to happen.

I took a hit on this for a few Hundred quid a couple of months back and have a few shares left still in my T212 account mainly to have it to watch out on the path it takes..

I fully understand all the comments made, and I totally get it. I’ve been a BP holder for many years so have skin in the long game.

I don’t believe we would ever get the money back on the books from Russia, unless they get theirs back from Europe and back in the global stage. UK is 2nd on Russia’s most hated list, business or not, that won’t be lifted anytime soon. We’re already balls deep in this.

Would you all, want that Despotic and deplorable leader back in the G8 like nothing ever happened?? While we’re paying Russia for Energy so they can build their arms again??

That’s the only way you’ll ever see Rosneft money back on the books.

I’ve stayed in anyway foolishly watching my value decimated.

Chid's post was certainly well thought out, with rationality to BP's asset's on investment that it made in Russia with investors money.

Where-as mine was certainly driven by Emotion and ideology, which I suppose is less important when considering financial outcomes.

Although sitting here thinking about that exact situation, I think of Trump, and Morals being subversed or substituted for Profit.

I just fear that a deal's going to be done and all those War Crimes will just be forgotten and ignored, because we need Russia's Energy to the West.

Then our kids will be having the same problems with despotic leaders.

Rosneft is blood money now, I wouldn’t want blood on the BP books and IMO only, Russia should be shunned for a generation.

This Trump plan includes nothing about the 10’s thousands of children kidnapped, nothing about war crimes for Bucha to name but 1 of thousands of totally inhuman actions over 4 odd years of unnecessary violence.

Trump wants a Peace prize, REM’s and Trump towers in Russia, not much else in regards to actually doing what’s right.

Russia was violating our security and multiple of countries long before the unlawful Ukrainian invasion. They are nothing but a terrorist state, and should be treated as such, with or without Trump.

Europe has become weak under USA’s wings for too long, we must start to stand on our own legs, or admit defeat to Russia or China in a few decades time.

Hi Caz, I’ve been with AJ Bell for most of my trading life, very happy with their service, platform, app, and also very happy they halved their dealing charges a year or a couple of years back. I lose time very easily

My first purchase in this was around the £2.20 levels before the shizz storm was announced about what, 6 / 7 years ago now. I thought at the time, that Rahul’s placement and his 5 year plan would help turn it around as a slow burn.

Then we had Iran throwing rockets at Saudi Oil infrastructure ( maybe that was just before Tullow crashed ) but it’s been a torrid and rocky time for this holding.

Selling now is pointless as I’m left with very little value left, but would happily sell 50% to derisk in TLW at around the 40p mark and I wouldn’t feel so burnt by it after all these years of holding.

Hi Denby, a day rate of £250 per day does not allow growth in the housing sector, those wages are too high to create growth and results in overinflated house prices.

So I have turned your words backwards using the same argument.

House prices are far too high, new builds are crazy prices and just bought up by the rich, Middle Eastern overseas States or Corporations. Not young people that want to start a life and family themselves.

We’ll have more homeless, immigration and inequality in this country with sky high property prices.

Hi Stanley, I quite agree with your comments actually, but I disagree that the land needs building on.

We must stop building homes at some point, otherwise where and when will it end? How far do we need to go before we see flooding that is unmanageable as we’ve become a concrete jungle. Maybe we’ll create cities like Venice, on stilts in rivers.

Everyone has their own views, mine is population management in a qualified reduction of non qualifying non productive people in this country.

The Windrush helped rebuild this country after the War, it was greatly needed and “had” given us the diversity which was needed to create a blended society.

The past 30 odd years in overseas invites / arrivals though, has seen far too much for far too long. Chasing growth but in the wrong areas.

Increasing population does not equate to increasing growth, quite the opposite in fact as it creates a vast divide in the population. Especially so when ideologies that have been for centuries against each and very often in violent wars, are then forced to live with each other. It does not and has not worked in many areas and now the country is quite divided.

Our little Island can only take so much Build baby build growth. Create a Million more homes, and 2 Million more people will come over again, all for the reasons of an aging population..

IMO, something should be done to slash Property prices in half in many regions of the UK, otherwise homes are unattainable for the working class and left only to pay the rich their rents.

With the SP looking grim as at is, I’m starting to feel the Clown myself.

Had opportunities to get out of this, probably while it was in the 50 60p range I might have made a few beers on it as well…

The SP has been languishing at levels of Covid and there was a risk of going under.

I never bought enough on that crash and I sold what I did buy too early. We have what looks like another opportunity at 8.5 ish British Pennies. But I’m already nearly 50% down on my last top up a month or so ago…

I do hope it turns positive soon, otherwise I’ll put on my red nose and size 39 shoes.
