Tucked away in the Notes to Editors in recents RNS's:
"Greatland is seeking to identify large mineral deposits in areas that have not been subject to extensive exploration previously. It is widely recognised that the next generation of large deposits will come from such under-explored areas and Greatland is applying advanced exploration techniques to investigate a number of carefully selected targets within its focused licence portfolio.
The Company is actively investigating a range of new opportunities in Australia for precious and strategic metals and will update the market on new opportunities as and when appropriate".
It would be interesting to hear what further comments SD makes. What exactly are these "advanced exploration techniques"?
Newcrest are not hanging about - to see how far we've come look at the massive amount of drilling undertaken since the June 2019 quarter when major drilling commenced:
Newcrest completed six core holes in the vicinity of the Havieron Project from 1991 to 2003. Greatland Gold completed drill targeting and drilling of nine Reverse Circulation (RC) drill holes with core tails for a total of approximately 6,800m in 2018.
Newcrest commenced drilling at Havieron during the June 2019 quarter and have completed 158,663m of drilling from 183 holes to date, as reported in the 29 April RNS.
Looking forward with great anticipation to Wednesday night's results with several thousand more metres being reported. Fully expecting 16/16.
RE: 6 week update Wednesday Night.4 Jun 2021 10:45
Well said SAS. I have added more green boxes this quarter than I have ever done before. Life is much easier when I don't have to read their uninformed drivel. Looking forward to next Wednesday evening when there should be a lot of new information being released.
Redleader - I have always worked on the definition, as used by Barrick Gold, that Tier 1 assets are ones that produce 500,000 ounces of gold annually, have a mine life of more than 10 years and are low cost.
Redtrader - a more interesting and more relevant fact would have been if you had worked out what it cost Newcrest to produce an ounce when Telfer was in FULL production. The figure you quote is not relevant any more.
SB presentation today - Slide 6: " Further ~45,000m growth drilling planned by 30 June 2021".
Progressing at speed - 20km drilled already this season with a further 45km to be completed in the next 6 weeks. The next NCM update in 3 weeks or so should be mega.
