Bumble, that's been my strategy for quite a while. I have kept BP for the yield but my cash exposure in the markets has been trimmed back.
AMER is pretty much defensive in terms of Brexit but can see small investors moving around funds covering losses elsewhere.
News like today has sheltered us from the wider market as futures looking poor in the short-term.
Some talk of a possible oil rally this first quarter with shale being scaled back in the US and Iranian sanctions. We will see but AMER profitable even at all time lows.

Fred good luck getting out and I assume without a loss. However, the reason(s) you invested in the first instance have significantly improved. I also have to say that the significant shareholder selling up has been the cause of your sentiment.
I don't think your target of 19p is too far away now. Particularly now that we have an accelerated drilling programme.

HNY to all. Never imagined that I could have managed a top up at under £5. The recent fall got very close to my average but of course I have collected the yield. Some interesting views over the new year on the direction of oil prices. The following link provides imo, a good balanced view but not sure if it was published prior to data coming out of Asia. That said, I do think we have already seen the bottom for now and can see shale production being scaled back significantly as costs and contamination become a developing problem in the US market.

HNY Bill. I cannot remember if there was a mention or not. The company seems to have gone into a news lockdown like it did prior to the trial update. I can only assume they have to remain 'tight lipped' in relation to any discussions that may be ongoing. Today's news could have been the perfect opportunity to promote the company and the work that GY has done before stepping down but have made the RNS very formal. I also note that we have still have no CEO. Perhaps experience lacking on the IR front.
All that said, we cannot ignore the prize awaiting shareholders the FLU-5 trial results were exceptional and will lead to a drug that will be seen as a blockbuster in healthcare.

More I digest today's news the more I like. They seem to be developing the field in a controlled manner controlling the natural flow. Also like the comments in relation to SOL-1 and the consideration of bringing that forward with a second rig. Should be an abundance of news this quarter. The sp will take care of itself as the fundamentals improve and will get back to a MC that reflects true value. Cracking start to the year with much more to come.

Is there another pipeline being planned after today's confirmation of PUT-14. Completion of phase 1 is a long way off but they obviously see an opportunity to supply additional infrastructure via the Putumayo river. Maybe getting ahead a little but the RNS does suggest an opportunity.

Looking forward to the test results from Ind-1 with high expectations as the company progresses in 2019.

Today Douglas Ellenor steps down from the Board Leaving (taken from today's RNS) 'comprises two Executive Directors, a Chairman and FIVE independent non-executive Directors, exceeding the expected level of independent director representation for an AIM-listed company.

Am I missing something? Has another non- executive Director been added? I understand Elodie Goodey is replacing Douglas Ellenor but we seem to have acquired and extra Director from somewhere.

Seems a bit of shuffling going on. Foss also stated in his farewell comments ' I look forward to observing its considerable progress." I wonder if some deals have already been done behind closed doors?

I also note the number of news releases over the last three months that do if anything confirm a 'wind of change' in communication with shareholders. Whatever has happened in the last couple of years and not forgetting the poor sp performance, confidence going into 2019 could not be better.

Excellent news and a good use of revenue going forward. Particularly like the comments from JW. Shows that the company is very confident of the acquisition and can exploit the geographical position. Approx. 2 year timeframe and I'm sure news to come on the progress.

Margaret, market abuse is not just inside information it is also about attempting to interfere with the fair and free operation of the market. Your post suggested that you have tried to do this by selling and buying in chunks 'to get this moving'.

I will refrain from commenting further on this matter but I do think it is unfair on the less experienced and perhaps poorer investor. Just asking that you consider what you post on the bb.

Bumble, have to agree. Timeframes have to be carefully considered when updating the market. If the news is after an investors expectations the naturally get twitchy that affects decision making. I have no doubt that they will be much news to come and as I'm not trading this I am happy to let the fundamentals underpin the sp.

Margaret, as I posted it is your money but please be careful on what you post. There are clear rules and unfair on any new investor considering whether or not to buy. Some may not be as experienced as yourself and as wealthy. Your post suggests your interfering with the free and fair play of the market.

Orackle, you may be right but although a positive RNS would be welcomed; I cannot think of a worse time of the year to release it.

Sp performance is not based on buys v sells, so that is not evidence that would support a claim. The price is based on supply v demand. Sadly many pi's cannot see that.

From memory, BP. have commissioned the rollout of Chargers across their forecourts, very forward thinking and essential in helping improve the infrastructure.
